This template displays a core series menu sprite for a Pokémon, and clicking that sprite will go to the Pokémon's species page.

The menu sprite grabbed will be whichever one the Bulbagarden Archives considers to be the "main" sprite (not necessarily the most-recent one).

  • Since Pokémon HOME contains the most Pokémon as of Generation VIII, this template will usually grab HOME sprites if possible.
  • If no HOME sprite is available (examples: Spiky-Eared Pichu, Cosplay Pikachu), then the most-recent sprite is used.

Template fields

  • field 1 (natdex number) - The Pokémon's National Pokédex number. This should be in a 4-digit format, but 3-digit formats are also accepted.
    • For specific forms of Pokémon that do not appear in HOME or in Generation IX onwards (examples: Spiky-Eared Pichu, Cosplay Pikachu, Gigantamax forms), a 3-digit format must be used. A 4-digit format will not work.
  • field 2 (Pokémon name) - The name of the Pokémon, to allow linking to its species page.
  • form (optional) - A short signifier for the Pokémon's form, so the correct image is displayed.
    • This is generally the first letter (or first few letters) of the form's name or type. For example: P for Meloetta Pirouette Form, or G for Wormadam Sandy Cloak (which is Ground-type).
    • If unsure, check this archives category to see the file names for all of HOME's menu sprites: Category:HOME menu sprites.
    • If the form does not appear in HOME, search for the Pokémon's category in the archives (example: Category:Pikachu) to find the correct file name. File names are usually in the format (natdex)(form)MS(generation).png.
  • size - The display size of the menu sprite. Defaults to 60px.
