Trivia
- The Japanese equivalent of this card is Rocket's Celebi, released in the Rocket Gang Strikes Back expansion. It is purely a Darkness-type card, as with all Rocket's Pokémon in the expansion.
- Dark Celebi is the first Pokémon with "Dark" in its name to be dual-typed with Darkness and its own type, a mechanic more prominently featured in the EX Team Rocket Returns expansion. The reason for its inclusion in EX Hidden Legends is unknown, but it is possible Pokémon USA wanted to display more dual-type variety other than Psychic and Metal.
- It is the first Basic Pokémon to be a Dark Pokémon.
Origin
- This card references the fate of the Celebi of Celebi: The Voice of the Forest, which was captured in a Dark Ball by the Iron-Masked Marauder.
- Leaf Poison's Japanese name is that of Poison Powder, a move in the Pokémon games that Celebi cannot learn.
