Release information
In Japan, this card was released as an Unnumbered Promotional card with artwork by Ken Sugimori and was available on a two-card insert alongside Brock's Onix in the March 1998 issue of CoroCoro Comic, released on February 15, 1998. It was reprinted in the Japanese Hanada City Gym Theme Deck with new artwork by the same artist. This print was later included in the Gym Challenge expansion, having been previously reprinted in the Japanese Leaders' Stadium expansion.
