Good as Gold (Japanese: おうごんのからだ Gold Body) is an Ability introduced in Generation IX. It is the signature Ability of Gholdengo.
Effect
In battle
Pokémon with this Ability are unaffected by other Pokémon's status moves. It does not block status moves that target the user; the other side of the field, such as Stealth Rock; or all Pokémon, such as Haze. It does, however, block potentially beneficial status moves from ally Pokémon, such as Helping Hand, Life Dew, and Howl.
If targeting a Pokémon with Good as Gold:
- Memento fails, and the user does not faint.
- Curse used by a Ghost type fails without deducting HP from the user of Curse.
- Strength Sap fails without even restoring the user's HP.
- Transform does not affect the target but will still fail.
- Spite fails without reducing the previously used move's PP.
- Leech Seed fails and does not set the target as seeded.
Outside of battle
Good as Gold has no effect outside of battle.
