Face boards (Japanese: 顔出し看板(かおだしかんばん)B2W2ORAS or 顔(かお)ハメ看板(かんばん)SMUSUM photo stand-in) are a feature that debuted in Pokémon Platinum and have since become a recurring element in the core series games. A face board is a two-dimensional, upright board depicting a Pokémon or person with a hole in the face. When the player stands behind the face board, the player's face fills the hole. In the Nintendo 3DS games, standing behind the face board causes the camera to zoom onto the face board.
