The Scroll of Darkness (Japanese: あくのかけじく Scroll of Evil) is a Key Item introduced in Generation IX. It allows Kubfu to evolve into Single Strike Style Urshifu. Its counterpart is the Scroll of Waters. The Scroll of Darkness was added as an item to make it possible to evolve Kubfu in Generation IX, as the Tower of Darkness does not exist.

When used from the Bag on a Kubfu, the Scroll of Darkness will cause it to evolve into Single Strike Style Urshifu.

The Scroll of Darkness in The Isle of Armor

The Scroll of Darkness debuted as an interactive object at the Tower of Darkness in Pokémon Sword and Shield. After defeating Mustard at the top floor of the tower, the player can have Kubfu interact with the Scroll of Darkness to evolve.

If Kubfu is holding an Everstone upon interacting with the Scroll, Mustard will notice it, and allow the player to not evolve the Kubfu.
