Mairin and Alain at the end of the segment

The Mega Evolution Pokédex Shorts are a series of shorts for the Pokémon anime that introduce mostly Mega-Evolved Pokémon that debuted in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.

In the original Japanese version, it originally aired as a post-credits segment of the anime's Pokémon the Series: XY in the place of Professor Oak's Pokémon Holo Caster. It aired from Battling Into the Hall of Fame! to Facing the Grand Design! (including the delayed An Undersea Place to Call Home!).

XY044 and XY054's Mega Evolution Encyclopedia lectures were provided by the narrator of the Mega Evolution Specials.
