Plot
Liko is still feeling down after her recent loss against Grusha. Roy and Dot decide to cheer her up by suggesting they go to the top of Glasaedo mountain, one of the wonders of Paldea. With Floragato's encouragement, Liko agrees and the group soon heads off, meanwhile Spinel begins spying on the group from his van, preparing to initiate his plan.
Having failed her Terastal Training test with Grusha, Liko is feeling dejected as she, Roy, and Dot head back towards Naranja Academy, knowing that she'll never get to use Terastallization again now. Unnoticed by the group, Spinel's Beheeyem is spying on them from above, relaying what it sees to Spinel himself in a van nearby. He is in contact with Chalce, who tells him that Amethio has spotted him and his heading his way. Spinel smiles at this information, plotting to use this situation to his advantage.

As Liko and her friends head up the mountain, Liko and Floragato are secretly separated from the group with a boulder psychically controlled by Chalce's Medicham. Amethio meanwhile has been flying on his Corviknight following Spinel for some time, trying to figure out his schemes. Spinel is warned of Amethio by Chalce but is not concerned as he heads out to track down Liko, Amethio sees this and descends onto land, recalling Corviknight and follows Spinel closely on foot to find out what he is after.
Along their way down the mountain, the trio comes across a crossroads, with one path leading to Ten Sights of Paldea, the summit of Glaseado Mountain and one of the Ten Sights of Paldea. Feeling the view from the summit could cheer Liko up, Roy suggests they visit it. Dot hates the idea of going someplace even colder, but ultimately, Liko agrees with Roy's idea. As they head up the mountainside, exhaustion starts to set in, so when Roy spots a cabin where they could rest for a bit, he and Dot head towards it. However, once they've passed, a boulder moves to block the path they've taken. Liko, distracted by her thoughts about making her friends worry about her, fails to notice this and takes a different path, following which the boulder, telekinetically moved by Chalce's Medicham, moves to block the path behind her. Amethio, meanwhile, riding his Corviknight, spots Spinel exiting his van and descends down slowly to follow him on foot. Elsewhere, Roy and Dot have realized that Liko has gotten separated from them and set out to look for her.

Liko and Floragato soon got lost and realized they have been separated from the group, trying out a different path the duo end up running into Amethio, both Liko and Amethio being shocked to see each other. Liko wonders if Amethio is after Terapagos again, which Ametio wonders if it is in Liko's bag, Terapagos suddenly leaps out of its bag and starts screaming at Amethio, who notes that it still dislikes him for some reason. Amethio then sends out his Ceruledge to battle Liko's Floragato, proclaiming that he will catch Terapagos as promised the last time they met, Liko maintains her cool and notes despite how she and Floragato stood no chance against Amethio and Ceruledge when Floragato was still a Sprigatito, things have changed now with Liko's progession as a trainer, Liko then states she will not back down from this battle.
With Liko, she finally comes to realize that her path isn't taking her upwards anymore and figures she must've taken a wrong turn. With Amethio also looking for Spinel nearby, the two of them end up hearing each other's footsteps and run into each other, shocked by the unexpected encounter. Recovering from his surprise, Amethio decides to fulfill what he vowed to do during their next meeting and steal Terapagos, sending out his Amethio. Refusing to hand Terapagos over, Liko places the bag containing it nearby before preparing to take on Ceruledge with Liko, swearing to protect Terapagos. Liko remembers how badly their last confrontation on Roy's home island went for her, but feels confident that she and Floragato have much better chances this time.

Floragato and Ceruledge's battle begins. Ceruledge starts by unleashing a flurry of Psycho Cuts, which Floragato dodges while evading an incoming Shadow Claw with Acrobatics. Floragato then unleashes a powerful Magical Leaf that knocks Ceruledge back, causing it to fall to one knee. Amethio notes how far Liko has come as a Trainer now that her Pokemon has grown stronger and evolved, he then commands Ceruledge to relentlessly use Bitter Blade, with Liko commanding Floragato to dodge all of Ceruledge's fiery slashes, before once again countering with Acrobatics. Amethio further muses how Liko is better at strategizing in battles now, as she is having Floragato keenly avoid Ceruledge's supereffective Fire-type moves while counterattacking simultaeneously. Ceruledge then slices apart another Magical leaf attack while Amethio decides to get serious and Terastalize his partner, Ceruledge then hits Floragato with a boosted Phantom Force. Liko hesitates about using Terastalization after her failure against Grusha, Amethio notes her hesitation before having Ceruledge unleash another Phantom force that Floragato fails to dodge which knocks her to the ground, Amethio commands Ceruledge to finish off Floragato with Bitter blade, but suddenly Spinel shows up and has his Umbreon interrupt the battle.
Ceruledge uses a flurry of Psycho Cuts, but Floragato uses Quick Attack to avoid them all, before dodging and countering an incoming Shadow Claw with Acrobatics. Following a powerful blow from Magical Leaf, even Amethio is forced to admit that Floragato has gotten stronger after evolving. Ceruledge attacks with a flurry of Bitter Blades, but Floragato nimbly dodges all of them before counterattacking with Magical Leaf. Amethio recognizes that Liko's strategy involves avoiding Ceruledge's Fire moves and attacking from a distance, understanding that Liko has actually learned to strategize in-battle now. As such, before Floragato can attack again, Amethio reveals his Tera Orb and Terastallizes Ceruledge into a Ghost type. With its Terastallization boost, Ceruledge starts to quickly overwhelm Floragato with a series of Phantom Forces. Remembering how she got overwhelmed by Grusha's Terastallization as well, Liko begins to falter as Floragato continues to get beaten down. Amethio declares the battle is over and aims for a finishing blow with Bitter Blade. However, before the attack can land, Spinel's Umbreon suddenly jumps in the middle of the battle, followed by Spinel himself. Spinel pretends to be surprised by Amethio's presence, but Amethio quickly sees through his lies and understands he let him and Liko battle each other to tire them out. Liko quickly realizes that Spinel is after Terapagos as well, but instead of trying to grab it, Spinel reveals a container holding his sample of Eternal Blessing. The container fills with a pink mist, which Spinel releases at his Umbreon, causing it to cry out in pain and become completely feral, shocking both Liko and Amethio.

Amethio demands answers from Spinel and wonders if he was waiting for both Ceruledge and Floragato to get worn out from battling before swooping in to attack them. Spinel denies this and states he wants to try out an experiment, he then takes out the piece of Laquium he stole from Exceed, much to Liko and Amethio's curiosity. The Laquium crystal then creates a pink mist that envelops Umbreon, driving it into a pained berserk and frenzied state, shocking Liko and Amethio, Spinel states he will allow Umbreon to rampage to its heart's content. Amethio tries to have Ceruledge intercept Umbreon, but shockingly Umbreon knocks Ceruledge out of its Terastalized state in one hit to defeat it, Amethio is shocked at this suprising increase in power. Suddenly, Terapagos then emerges from Liko's bag and immediately transforms into its Terastal form, shocking everyone before using its power to destroy the Laquium crystal and forcibly reverts Umbreon back into its original state, Umbreon then collpases.
Sensing the presence of Eternal Blessing, Terapagos forces itself out if its bag and starts angrily crying out at Spinel. Amethio tries to have Ceruledge attack Umbreon, but Umbreon defeats Ceruledge with a single blow before the Terastallized Pokémon can do anything, shocking Amethio even more. Spinel shows the Eternal Blessing to Terapagos, waiting for its reaction. Its anger reaching a critical point, Terapagos lets out a loud cry of rage and suddenly Tera Shift into its Terapagos. Using its powers, Terapagos is able to make the Eternal Blessing shatter and Umbreon calm down, though it quickly reverts back to its Normal Form from exhaustion. Spinel smiles with satisfaction, having seen what he wanted to see. Recalling Umbreon, he thanks Liko for her cooperation and starts to leave, ignoring her and Amethio's questions about what just happened. Both Amethio and Liko give chase to Spinel, eventually leading them to a tunnel underneath the mountain. Amethio notices Liko following her and tells her to leave, but she refuses, wanting answers as well. The chase eventually leads both of them to a large underground cavern. However, Spinel is nowhere in sight, and Amethio realizes too late the chase was a trap when the entrance suddenly collapses shut behind them. Meanwhile, Spinel teleports outside the cave with his Beheeyem and meets up with Chalce, telling her about Terapagos's reaction to Laquium and its power to destroy it, concluding that the two are polar opposites. Chalce, meanwhile, informs Spinel that Coral and Sidian are taking care of things at the other end, which means that Liko and Amethio won't be getting help anytime soon. Knowing that Gibeon holds Amethio in high regard as his grandson, Spinel has decided to make Amethio disappear before he can get in the way of their plans.

Terapagos soon exhausts itself after its transformation and reverts back to normal, Spinel recalls his Umbreon and states that he got the results he wanted before fleeing. Amethio and Liko chase him in pursuit, demanding to know what he was after. Spinel leads both trainers into a cave, Amethio tells Liko not to follow him and leave, but Liko insists she wants answers from Spinel as well, both trainers then end up in the heart of the cave, but its a trap, Spinel had teleported himself out with his Beheeyem before sealing Liko and Amethio inside with a cave-in.
In Levincia, Friede is contacted by Roy and Dot about how they've lost Liko and can't get in touch with her. Friede agrees to head to Glaseado Mountain right away, making a call to the Glaseado Gym as he does so. At the mountain hut, Roy and Dot decide to resume their search for Liko, but are suddenly confronted by a disguised Sidian and Coral. While Amethio's escape attempts fail to yield results and Terapagos wakes up and reemerges from its bag to angrily cry out at him, Sidian declares that they've kept up their masquerade for long enough. With that, he and Coral undo their disguises and send out Garganacl and Glalie to confront Roy and Dot.

Chalce then shows up near the cave entrance and asks Spinel if he got his experiment's desired results, Spinel stated how Terapagos purposely destroyed the Laquium to get rid of its effects, and notes that Terapagos and Laquium are polar opposites. Chalce then wonders about Spinel trapping Amethio out of spite, Spinel then claims that Amethio stands in the way of the explorers goals, and for the sake of those goals he is willing to get rid of Amethio even if he is Gibeon's grandson.

Meanwhile in the cave Amethio's Ceruledge starts unleashing a flurry of Psycho cuts to try and slice through the rocks blocking the path out, but to no avail. Terapagos then leaps out of Liko's bag and screams at Amethio out of anger again, Amethio tells it to calm down as now is not the time for conflict but with no luck. Meanwhile back at the lodge Roy and Dot are worried about Liko and call Friede for assistance, telling him Liko might be lost in the mountains somewhere. Friede soon calls Glasaedo gym for assistance in finding Liko. Roy and Dot soon plan to go out searching for Liko but suddenly Coral and Sidian show up and blocks their path, while summoning their respective Pokemon for battle, intending to prevent Roy and Dot from rescuing their friend.
