Connally (Japanese: Kuroda) is a Black Belt who trains in Maylene's gym. His English voice actor is Herb Lawrence. He appeared in Lost Leader Strategy and A Triple Fighting Chance!.
In his first appearance, Connally and his fellow Black Belts had lost faith in Maylene because of her loss to Paul and uncertainty about being a Gym Leader. Later he judged Maylene and Ash's gym battle.
