Mewtwo (Japanese: ミュウツー Mewtwo) is a Psychic-type Pokémon. It is one of the more famous Legendary Pokémon, being the subject of two Pokémon Movies. You can capture it in Pokémon Red, Pokémon Green, Pokémon Blue, Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen after defeating the Elite Four, and upgrading the Sevii Islands Network Machine in FireRed/LeafGreen. It is found in Cerulean Cave at Level 70.
Mewtwo's Ability is Pressure, which causes the opponent to use two PP instead of one each time it uses a move.
Despite Mewtwo's name and similar appearance towards Mew or Lucario, it does not evolve from or into any other Pokémon.

In the anime
Main article: Mewtwo (anime)
While Mewtwo has been the Pokémon of focus of two movies, it also made brief appearances in EP063 and EP064 in its body-armor. The first intance was when Giovanni used it to battle Gary's Arcanine and Nidoking. The second time was when Mewtwo totaled Giovanni's headquarters and flew off.
A Mirage Mewtwo appears in The Mastermind of Mirage Pokémon and is the most powerful Pokémon controled by Mirage Master.
Evolution
Other appearances
Super Smash Brothers Melee
Mewtwo can be unlocked after a lot of playing in VS. Mode; either after 700 matches or 20 hours of combined play. Despite Mewtwo being a Legendary Pokémon, most players of the game don't consider it to be a great fighter as Mewtwo's weight, speed and strength are contrary to it's real Pokémon statistics.
