Wonder Cards mention the name of the gift, whether the player has already received the gift, a brief description of the gift, and, starting in [[Generation IV]], the date the Wonder Card was received in the game. An image of the {{OBP|Pokémon|species}}, [[item]], or other contents of the gift is also included.


Obtained Wonder Cards can be viewed by accessing Mystery Gift from {{game3|Diamond and Pearl|Pokémon Diamond's, Pokémon Pearl's|s}} or {{game|Platinum}}'s main menu (if it has already been unlocked), and selecting the "Check Card" option. Wonder Cards contain such information as the name of the bundled gift, whether or not the player has already received the gift before,the Pokémon's in-game effect(if applicable), the date the gift was received in the game, and a brief description of the gift; an icon of the associated Pokémon is also displayed for further identification. This excludes of TM gifts, which sport an empty icon placeholder.
In [[Generation]]s {{gen|III}} and {{gen|IV}}, each event distribution has unique Wonder Card text, which is stored in the card itself. From [[Generation V]] onwards, the distribution text serves this role, so the Wonder Card text is instead pulled from a fixed pool that describes where it was obtained; once the event has been collected, the Wonder Card text changes to indicate this.

A Wonder Card (Japanese: ふしぎなカード Wonder Card) is a digital card used by the Mystery Gift system to track events that the player has received.
