:It can vary depending on the manga but I guess anything you can confirm. When I first added a section for [[Roxanne]] in PMRS, for example, since I only have the Japanese version I had left it pretty basic "Roxanne appears in the Pokémon Ruby-Sapphire manga. She first appeared in ''[[PMRS09|Clefairy's Training Camp!!]]''. She has a Nosepass." and then someone who had the manga managed to add the rest XD but I think adding at least the fact that they appeared, what chapter/round they appeared in, and a pic of them at least starts the section, acknowledges that they appeared, and adds awareness so that someone who may have read the manga can improve the section. A limited, but truthful section is better than none at all. :::Ya exactly. I'd rather err on the side of caution and have a limited amount of info but know it's correct rather than unintentionally include wrong information (or accidentally omit something important). Like I said having a small section is better than none and leaves room for expansion and helps create awareness of what needs to be done :) so keep on keeping on with the info you can, haha. ==Pokémon in Malaysia==
Hello Zesty, there's something that bothers me for a long time. I want to upload a picture about the cover of Pokémon Sticker Albums so that the readers know its appearance. But I can't upload it because of the restriction. What should I do? :( [[User:Esther Siaw|Esther Siaw]] ([[User talk:Esther Siaw|talk]]) 15:04, 25 February 2014 (UTC)
:Hi Esther! I agree that a picture would help out the article too ^^' all uploads are done through the Bulbagarden Archives ([[a:Main Page|link]]). Make sure that you are logged in (you may have to log in again, sometimes it doesn't log you in automatically since it's a separate wiki from Bulbapedia, although on the same project so your usual login should work) Otherwise, you may need to be autoconfirmed on the archives before your upload will work. You can see the [[:a:Archives:FAQ|Archives FAQ]] for more information about uploading if you're still having problems. Hope that helps! Let me know if you still have any unresolved questions ^^' [[Special:Contributions/Zesty Cactus|--]][[User:Zesty Cactus|<span style="color:#006400">'''Zesty'''</span>]][[User talk:Zesty Cactus|<span style="color:#3CB371">'''Cactus'''</span>]] 02:27, 26 February 2014 (UTC)

::It looks to me like all you need to do is replace <code><nowiki>[[File:{{{1|083}}}.png|{{#if: {{{8|}}}|THIS SPRITE IS FAKE|{{{2|Farfetch'd}}}}}]]</nowiki></code> with <code><nowiki>[[File:{{{1|083}}}{{{2|Farfetch'd}}}.png|{{#if: {{{8|}}}|THIS SPRITE IS FAKE|{{{2|Farfetch'd}}}}}|96px]]</nowiki></code> in [[Template:Evobox/Setup]]. That'll prevent the image from being huge, at least. [[Template:Evobox-2]] does quite a bit more for its images, but I don't know that Evobox/Setup needs the same things, and some of the parameters in Evobox-2 I suspect are never passed to Evobox/Setup on any page (which, again, means it wouldn't need those). I thought I'd check the other evo templates to see if Setup was the last outdated one, and I discovered that updating Setup broke [[Template:Evobox/Formes]] (on [[Castform_(Pokémon)#Evolution|Castform]], for example, and [http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Special:WhatLinksHere/Template:Evobox/Formes others]). I mocked up updates to the Formes and Setup templates at [[User:Tiddlywinks/Template:Evobox/Formes]] and [[User:Tiddlywinks/Template:Evobox/Setup]] to make Formes work with artwork, with an example of their usage at [[Bulbapedia:Sandbox#Castform evolution artwork]]. (I made Setup use a "sprite" parameter that will (optionally, for Formes) just specify the whole filename, and I made Formes use the sprite parameter when it calls Setup instead of the first parameter (which is only used in the filename anyway).) Would you update the mainspace templates with that userpage code? (And, if necessary, delete those two userpages I made afterwards.) [[User:Tiddlywinks|Tiddlywinks]] ([[User talk:Tiddlywinks|talk]]) 21:51, 28 February 2014 (UTC)
:Done and done. Thanks for your hard work :) I couldn't have done it without your help, haha. Seems to be working now, I checked {{p|Castform}} and {{p|Keldeo}} and seems good now. I can delete your userpages if you wish (not a big deal either way, but might avoid confusing others later on). [[Special:Contributions/Zesty Cactus|--]][[User:Zesty Cactus|<span style="color:#006400">'''Zesty'''</span>]][[User talk:Zesty Cactus|<span style="color:#3CB371">'''Cactus'''</span>]] 22:32, 28 February 2014 (UTC)
::Well, they are "working", but they're not using artwork (which I didn't quite anticipate, but it's neat; and easy to fix anyway, like I showed in the sandbox).
::I also just realized, though, that [[Template:Evobox]] is a problem too if we're using artwork. Given its name (and the names of other evo templates), I thought it was used for more, but it's actually only used for branched evos and Pokemon with forms (like {{p|Sawsbuck}}) or other differences (like {{p|Jellicent}}). ...I'm wondering if perhaps the best solution here isn't just to always tell Evobox/Setup the full name of the image to use. A fix for this I'll have to think about a bit; and in light of this, it'd be nice if you left the userpages alone for a bit for now (I may want to use my Setup, at least). [[User:Tiddlywinks|Tiddlywinks]] ([[User talk:Tiddlywinks|talk]]) 22:43, 28 February 2014 (UTC)
Okay, it turns out that (IMO) the best solution from the beginning would have been to just add the height-limit to [[Template:Evobox/Setup]], and then change what everything that uses that template passes to it.
(You can see [[Bulbapedia:Sandbox#Evolution artwork]] again for examples of how my userspace templates currently work, and you can compare my userspace templates ([[User:Tiddlywinks/Template:Evobox/Setup|Setup]] and [[User:Tiddlywinks/Template:Evobox/Formes|Formes]]) to the changes I suggest below and they should come out the same except for the template names (the "User:Tiddlywinks/"etc...).)
So, in [[Template:Evobox/Setup]]:
:<code><nowiki>{{#if: {{{sprite|}}}|{{{sprite}}}|{{{1|083}}}{{{2|Farfetch'd}}}}}.png</nowiki></code> should become <code><nowiki>{{{1|083}}}.png</nowiki></code> ({{tt|or...|"083Farfetch'd" if you want it to be artwork}})
For [[Template:Evobox/Formes]], you can just '''revert''' that right back to the previous revision (if you care about the "bad formatting" <code><nowiki><br><br><br></nowiki></code>, you can keep the "good" <code><nowiki><br></br></br></nowiki></code>).
Then, the protected templates below need these changes made to make them use artwork...

== Mega Pokémon Sprites ==
Two things, one congratz on your big promotion.
Now that we have that out of the way, have the Mega Pokémon sprites been uploaded yet? I notice a lot of the articles that feature Mega Pokémon are using the Pokémon's normal sprite. Or is this one of those template things that have yet to be figured out/put into effect? [[User:Yamitora1|Yamitora1]] ([[User talk:Yamitora1|talk]]) 02:16, 28 February 2014 (UTC)
:Thanks! :) unfortunately, the bad news is we don't have the files yet. Our source for the regular menu sprites didn't have the Mega Evolution ones. Due to this, we'll have to make due with the plain ones until we have a source that can offer them to us freely. Sorry bout that! ==Legendary Pokémon: The Essential Guide - Sinnoh Edition==
Hey! I was recently on [[Legendary Pokémon: The Essential Guide - Sinnoh Edition|this page]]. I don't have this book, but I found that the entries are sort of dodgy. I had a look around and found this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Legendary-Pokemon-Essential-Edition-Pok%C3%A9mon/dp/0545160235#reader_0545160235. The entries here in the preview are very different to the ones on the page. == Engllish versions ==

:Unless it's from a bonafide official online source such as the Perfect Square app, I would err on the side of "not official" unless you can be 100% certain that it's real. :::Well you're being really vague to be honest so I may have misunderstood your question. I am assuming that by "online versions of manga" you are referring to images hosted on blogs, fan sites and other third party sources, considering that I doubt VIZ Media's official app would show the Japanese cover artwork (and Chuang Yi didn't have Pokémon manga on their online service when they were still in business IIRC). In cases like this, with third party fan sites, the uploader may have scanned pages from the official translation...or they may have posted a fan translation, which seems likely if they used the Japanese cover (not guaranteed, but likely). When it's not an official source like Perfect Square/VIZ Media or Chuang Yi...how are you supposed to know? That's why I'd prefer to err on the side of caution. So, yes, non-official sites are generally not official...just like how we only report game/anime information when it's been confirmed by an official source, not another fan site. I take a lot of personal pride in the fact that Bulbapedia has one of the most comprehensive coverage of Pokémon manga on the internet and I'd hate to include potentially wrong information from a fan translation by mistake. So basically I would take anything with a grain of salt unless I have the actual volume in my hands (or viewing it through the official app) since those are the only official ways to get the manga. == Questions ==
I've got two questions concerning the Adventures chapter pages. 1. The ''DP''-chapter page contains a note that the page lacks the rounds' names, but the other pages do not. Are the names to be used on the pages at some point? 2. Could the ''Important events''- sections (or some part of the pages) contain a link to the Adventures timeline page? It would be fitting. [[User: Ariano|Արիանո]] 19:42, 2 April 2014 (UTC)
:Regarding the incomplete notice, I've removed it since none of the chapter articles use round names for lists like that, nor do similar lists for the anime. So the current state of the article is fine as it is consistent with others. As for your second point, sounds like a fine idea to me. I'm always up for linking to other pages more frequently and I believe the anime articles provide similar links to the anime timeline page. Glitch pokémon pages
Thanks for helping me on the cleanup of this mess, and thanks also for noticing that this template has the names ordered by their hexadecimals. Still, there's something I want you, a staff member that doesn't often contribute to this type of pages, to notice: when adding pokémon there, please leave 7 per line, for it to have a normal size. That means the <br>'s have to be moved. Thanks. TheOriginalOne 22:38, 21 July 2013 (UTC)
User
I think that this user may be the same as this user who was blocked earlier today. Their usernames are almost identical minus the newer accounts addition of Unova. --It's Funktastic~!話してください 22:51, 21 July 2013 (UTC)
- I'll leave it for now...despite the similarity, both accounts have different IP addresses and are not in the exact same location. :S --ZestyCactus 16:05, 27 July 2013 (UTC)
The Pokemon Adventures main characters template
On the template that lists the main characters of Pokemon Adventures, it seems that after Rakutsu and Faitsu were added to the BWB2W2 section, someone made an attempt to middle-justify all the text inside each rows since with the addition of two more new characters in the BWB2W2 section, a lot more space was allowed. However, it looks like only the RGBY/FRLG row was middle-justified. All others are still left-justified. Do you know how to fix this? Or if admins only can fix it, can you take care of it? I do think that middle-justified looks much better but might as well complete the project. Arceus101 (talk) 20:30, 23 July 2013 (UTC)
- Oh and also, is there a reason why there hasn't been any info on Bulbapedia about the Mt. Silver training chapters? (Besides, of course, the articles about the chapters themselves.) Is it because there is no place to put them since they aren't incorporated into a specific arc or volume yet? If that is the case, then a solution could be to place relevant summaries of the chapters right after the GSC section of the characters who were involved (Red, Gold and Pika). That is, until the two special chapters are incorporated into a specific arc (that is, IF that happens, which I think it will since it's not like Kusaka to just leave out a chapter with no home, look at what he did with the Escape chapter). Arceus101 (talk) 20:35, 23 July 2013 (UTC)
About the Ruby & Sapphire section...
Perhaps it would be better to just delete this page and add its contents to the RS section on this page? I feel like there are two pages relevant to the RS timeline and only one is necessary, and considering that the main Pokemon Adventures timeline page is, well, the main page, it would look better if the two pages were merged. Arceus101 (talk) 01:03, 24 July 2013 (UTC)
- I wouldn't have a problem with it... I left it separate at this time since we already had that page and it was keeping the main one from being huge. But merging them is a fine idea too. --ZestyCactus 16:07, 27 July 2013 (UTC)
- Okay, I created this page in my userspace to test out the format that I suggested to you. Feel free to edit it any way you want and please correct any mistakes you spot. I'm sure that there will be some. I'll do the RS section first (using this page as a reference) and then I'll get to Emerald, which will be a tad more difficult because there is no reference of dates so far (but if you want to, you can get started on the Emerald section). Please give some feedback as this is an idea that I developed on my own. Thanks! Arceus101 (talk) 02:10, 30 July 2013 (UTC)
- Quickly adding something here. The last volume of the Emerald arc does reference what days the events took place throughout the chapter. ht14 02:27, 30 July 2013 (UTC)
- Okay I didn't know that. Thanks. I just looked at it and I was able to make the edits for the Emerald section a lot quicker than I expected to. I just have one uncertainty: where exactly the transition between July 5 and July 6 took place. I assumed that it took place between the transitions between Volume 28 and Volume 29 which is what I put but that's a dangerous assumption and it's probably wrong. If any of you two happen to know at what point the date transition took place for certain, then can you make the edit? (Or confirm my edit, if that's the case.) Thanks. Volume 46 rounds
Can you move the rounds ABW20-ABW28 to PS480-PS488? Those are the rounds that were included in the recently-released Volume 46. Thanks! Arceus101 (talk) 23:37, 27 July 2013 (UTC)

Pokémon Try Adventure characters
I was able to create the pages for all of the main characters of Pokémon Try Adventure. Can you fill in the info about them from volumes 2 and 3 on their pages? PattyMan 02:35, 28 July 2013 (UTC)

What to do with certain events
I asked you this before but it got archived before you probably saw it so I'll ask you this again. What should we do about events that take place several years prior to a certain chapter but not necessarily before the series started? For example, some user added in info about Ruby and Sapphire meeting when they were kids which, if that user is correct, took place after Red won the Pokemon League. Which means that it was NOT pre-series so it does not belong in that section. What should we do about events like those? Should we add them between chapter sections at which point the event most likely took place? (So in the case of Ruby and Sapphire meeting as kids, it would belong between the RGB section and the Yellow section.) I can't think of all these events off the top of my head but some examples of these that I can think of are the birth times of the younger main characters. So for example, if my math is correct and only assuming that BW takes place three years after Platinum, Black and White would have been born the same year as the RGB chapter and Rakutsu and Faitsu would have been born the same year as the RS chapter. So what should we do about events like those that I mentioned? Arceus101 (talk) 01:20, 31 July 2013 (UTC)
- One thing that COULD work is, if it's necessary, between chapters putting in a section that says "During the time between *previous chapter* and *following chapter*" or something like that. Some events like that that I can think of is between HGSS and DP, Cynthia's Gabite evolved into Garchomp, between GSC and DP, Dia and Pearl saw the news about the Red Gyarados and the Jigglypuff and Clefairy show that was mentioned in the Red Special Chapter (and speaking of which, that would be a good place to mention the events of the Red Special Chapter), between the RGB chapter and the Yellow chapter, Yellow acquired a Doduo from her uncle and between the Yellow chapter and the GSC chapter, Yellow acquired Chuchu. Using History of the Pokémon world as an example, a header something like "After the Gold, Silver & Crystal chapter" in between the GSC chapter and the RS chapter (or whatever appropriate chapter) would work well. --ZestyCactus 02:15, 31 July 2013 (UTC)

List of Pokémon Pocket Monsters chapters
For this list, I have two questions:
1) For the Volume 10 chapters, the (Japanese:) and the infobox don't match, is there a reason for it?
2) For Volume 14, is it alright to leave the English title column to match with the rest? — Reshi643 03:05, 6 August 2013 (UTC)
- Sorry for the slow response. For volume 10, it might be a discrepancy between the English translation and the Japanese version's titles being translated into English. I don't have the English version of that volume so I'm not sure, sorry. For volume 14, leave it with English title column (empty) for now as that volume was translated by Chuang Yi so there are English titles to be added eventually, just nobody knows them yet. Thanks! --ZestyCactus 00:37, 20 August 2013 (UTC)

Important Mewtwo Strikes Back! manga info deleted
Remember when I asked for permission to add an unofficial external link to a summary of the Mewtwo Strikes Back! manga? Well, now someone has removed that link to the only existing summary of that manga (as far as I know, at least). According to the user that removed the link, it leads to a "dead page redirect with install of Candy Crush Saga". I don't know how it was back when he removed the link, but the site the summary is on is perfectly working and clean now. Can you please revert it back? Thanks. PokeAwesome94 (talk) 18:16, 18 August 2013 (UTC)
Why Hood Man should not be a soft redirect.
I see that you gave Ht14 the permission to keep the Hood Man page and link to Colress with a soft redirect. I have to ask you: why? There's no real reason for it. The only reason I made the page in the first place was so that I can have information to dump on the Colress page when it gets revealed. Now that he's confirmed to be Colress, there's no reason to have the page because "Hood Man" doesn't exist anymore. He was barely a separate character. Here's the reasons why it shouldn't need to stay.
- 1. They made no effort to hide who he really is. Pryce was a frail old man. In addition to his status as a good guy in the games, you wouldn't expect him to be the Masked Man. Archie was a surprise because he had already been defeated. And Guile revealed his goal just shortly before revealing himself. Colress? He went on and on about research and talked a lot about bringing out the strength in Pokemon. He even uses the same Pokemon. Compare with Pryce, who only shared Delibird with his fake identity and Archie, who didn't use any personal Pokemon until just a short time before he revealed his identity. Hood Man was also connected to Team Plasma. Compare to Pryce, who has no connections to Team Rocket in the games and Archie, who didn't have any connection to any teams in his time as Guile Hideout.
- 2. Hood Man didn't last that long. Compare to the Masked Man, where the time between his debut and reveal was 69 chapters. Emerald was shorter, but Guile's reveal took 17 chapters. At least he has the excuse of being a character who was already introduced. Hood Man's reveal took 11 (at least for the magazines). But Colress doesn't have the excuse of being a character that debuted before.
- I hope you think this over, Zesty. Thank you for your time. Ataro (talk) 05:35, 21 August 2013 (UTC)
- Hi Ataro~ I was sort of indifferent about it when I talked to ht14 originally since while I didn't really think of it as a killer spoiler the way I would for, say Sammy or Mayor Es Cade (or Masked Man for that matter), I told them to go ahead only if they thought it was soooo neccessary for covering the spoiler. ^^' looking at it again though I guess it might not be needed? Maybe just the
{{Spoilers}}
at the top of the Adventures section will do. it would probably be better to avoid too many soft redirects. ^^' anyway I guess you have my permission to un-redirect it :P --ZestyCactus 16:35, 21 August 2013 (UTC)- So sorry about any confusion that may have caused... but yeah, a

Manga To-do list
Hey, Zesty. I wanted to know if it would be alright to add a few things to the To-do list on the Project Manga page since I don't think that they will be a one person job and I don't want to add anything that might cause problems. The first was if next to the line on the manga stubs if it could mention checking them to confirm that they are still stubs since quite a few of the early articles do not seem to belong on the category anymore. The second was if a line could be created about adding the {{VolumePrevNext}}
template to all of the manga articles since quite a few of the manga articles actually use them. Thank you for your time. --Super goku (talk) 07:55, 21 August 2013 (UTC)
- The stubs might be a good one. I know sometimes I see articles that are complete but still marked as stubs. Or articles that are complete except for one section needing more detail, which needs
{{Incomplete}}
rather than{{Stub}}
sometimes. I'm confused about the second one, is{{VolumePrevNext}}
not used in some volume articles? D: it should be! Or are you suggesting it should be specifically mentioned in the Manual of style? --ZestyCactus 16:35, 21 August 2013 (UTC)- Sorry for the late reply. I sort of forgot about this. ^.^" Sadly, I cannot remember what I meant about
{{VolumePrevNext}}
since it seems to already be on all of the volume articles and there is nothing similar on the chapter articles. Sorry for any confusion. --Super goku (talk) 06:04, 6 September 2013 (UTC)

Incomplete translations
In the case of moves with incomplete translations such as Water Gun (only showed ずでっぽ being announced) and a move related to scratching (only showed ひっか being announced) in Pokémon Zensho, should I discount those as the Pokémon not officially using the move? I already removed the information about Satoshi's Charmander using the moves related to scratching and Shigeru's Squirtle using "Water Gun" because of that. PattyMan 13:58, 25 August 2013 (UTC)
Volume 47 rounds
Can you move the pages ABW29-ABW35 into PS489-PS495? Sorry I was late on getting you to this, school just started for me and I've been more busy than I would have been if it was still summer break. Same reason for just being inactive in general. But yah, can you please move those rounds I listed? Thanks. Arceus101 (talk) 01:45, 26 August 2013 (UTC)
Official art for main characters
Oh and one more thing that's been bugging me for ages. Is there not a single place on the Internet where an official art for the more recent main characters (the Sinnoh and Unova Dexholders) has been revealed where a certain body part of theirs is not covered by a logo or another character or something like that? All the older main characters seem to have official art on their pages but not the more recent main characters. And also, Crystal's official art needs a redesign as well, looking at her new outfit. With the recently released Pokemon Adventures posters, there has got to be some usable official art that we can use. I'm no graphic designer (I'm a Java programmer :3) but one thing that *maybe* could work is if the official arts of the newer characters revealed all their body parts but in separate images, then could those body parts be integrated into one official image? For example, one of Crystal's new design has Silver blocking out a part of her legs but there are other images out there that reveal the parts of Crystal that were blocked out earlier (but of course, other parts of her body are now blocked). So could a graphic designer move the initially covered parts of Crystal and move them to their respective locations? Thanks again. Arceus101 (talk) 01:45, 26 August 2013 (UTC)
- Okay I JUST saw this after posting this thread on your talk page. It looks like someone replaced Faitsu's art with her "official" art, or at least the parts that were actually revealed. It may not be as perfect as the ones of the older Dexholders but still it's better than nothing. Do you think it would be a good idea to do that same thing with the other Dexholders as well? Arceus101 (talk) 01:52, 26 August 2013 (UTC)
- Uh, if it's the same artwork but got letters covering up in different places, I suppose it could be merged together if someone was really pro at Photoshop or whatever. If it's 2 different artworks though, no way. I think some of the side game characters have the same scenario... I got a lot of the official artwork for characters from Pokémon Card GB2 from the player's guide but omg letters covering everybody up XD otherwise, something like on Faitsu or Rakutsu's pages would be awesome. --ZestyCactus 22:59, 26 August 2013 (UTC)
New Chapter pages
We're in the middle of changing "Synopsis" to "Plot" for every single anime episode and manga chapter. We have already moved the Incomplete synopsis template to {{incomplete plot}}
. When creating these articles, would you be able to create the article utilizing Plot instead of Synopsis? It would create less work in the long run (and trust me, after being the one who went through the first 7 seasons of the anime, any help is extremely appreciated). MaverickNate 20:41, 12 September 2013 (UTC)

Clefairy's Minimize
Can you confirm if Clefairy used Minimize because in the first few chapters of Volume 1, I only saw him shrinking without the move being commanded? PattyMan 20:08, 1 October 2013 (UTC)
- Looks like I added it back in 2011. If I recall correctly, that's around when I got volumes 8, 9 and 10 from Singapore. I didn't add which chapter I discovered it in as I didn't know at the time if there would be a confirmed appearance in an earlier volume (I didn't have them all yet). So ya I assume it was in one of those volumes, I just flipped through volume 8 and I didn't find it so it's probably in 9 or 10. When I find it I'll add the chapter to the article, otherwise I'll take it out. --ZestyCactus 16:40, 2 October 2013 (UTC)
- Oh wait looks like I did NOT add it, I just updated the template. Looks like Transfinite was the one to add it originally. So you know what, I will remove it and we can always re-add it if we find it identified by name. (I feel silly for wasting so much time going through those volumes like twice each lol. Tho I found a chapter where Jigglypuff, Pikachu and Clefairy all used Charm (when they were in their baby forms) so it wasn't a total waste!!) --ZestyCactus 17:14, 2 October 2013 (UTC)
Do you know about this problem?
About the info box template that is being used for Pokemon Adventures chapters, I tried editing it for the Black & White chapter so that it can show that the next chapter is Black 2 & White 2 but it won't change anything. Do you know how to fix it? Arceus101 (talk) 03:44, 24 October 2013 (UTC)

First of all the the first volume covers the basics (of gameplay) and then the walkthrough for the main game. More importantly the second volume has been revealed and it will be in paperback format and will have the post-game walkthrough and the Pokédex details. 2013 World Championship Deck lists
I was surprised to find that the 2013 World Championship deck lists weren't listed yet and since I just bought two of them at my local Target store, I was hoping to add the details. Unfortunately I'm too new of a member to create the pages. If I can get someone to help create the pages for the Ian Whiton American Gothic Deck and the Jason Klaczynski Darkrai deck, I will edit them to add the decklists. My hope is that someone will add the details of the other two world Championship decks because I can't find the decklists anywhere! Wolverine01 (talk) 18 November 2013
- There are lots of TCG enthusiasts around here, I am sure they will get around to the other two decks. In the meantime, I started American Gothic and Darkrai Deck, so if you can help finish the pages that would be awesome :) If you need help for style or templates, I'd give Maverick Nate a shout, though you can check out the 2012's articles for some examples. Thanks for your contributions! --ZestyCactus 20:34, 18 November 2013 (UTC)
Thanks so much. I just finished the American Gothic Deck and I'll do the Darkrai deck next. I also just picked up the other two decks so I can fill those in as well if you wouldn't mind creating me a couple more blank pages. If not, no worries. Volume 48 Rounds
Hey Zesty Cactus, can you please move ABW36-ABW43 to PS496-PS503 please? Those were the rounds that were included in the newly released Volume 48. Thank you! Arceus101 (talk) 19:14, 28 November 2013 (UTC)
- Oh and one more thing. ABW44, AKA the five-page only round, was merged with ABW43 to form PS503. You should probably keep that in mind when moving the pages (or whoever else has the power to do so, which doesn't include me). Perhaps a solution would be to delete the ABW44 page and move its contents to ABW43? Arceus101 (talk) 01:08, 29 November 2013 (UTC)
- My best guess with the PS503 scenario would be to merge the articles and then redirect ABW44 to PS503. There was a round in Volume 4 which in VIZ Media's first edition was split into two separate rounds :S even though it was one in the original. So both "Cloystered" and "Raging Rattata" point to PS045 in the end. (Of course, the second edition restored the Japanese numbering and only used the name "Cloystered", so it's not a big deal any more haha) anyway, since the volume version is the "official" version (hence part of why the rounds have been numbered at ABWXX rather than PSXXX, also because HGSS chapter wasn't out yet and in case they made changes like this) so anyway ya your suggestion makes the most sense. Anyway I will get to moving that stuff now, thanks! --ZestyCactus 22:40, 29 November 2013 (UTC)
A silly glitch
Friend, you may remember that some months ago I reported a glitch in Pokémon Red and Blue to Snorlax Monster. The glitch is thus: if the player, riding a bicycle, falls through a hole in Victory Road, the player, upon landing, will no longer be riding the bicycle, but the bicycle music will nonetheless continue to play until the player finds himself in a battle. Now, we know that the glitch occurs in Red & Blue, but are unsure if it occurs in Yellow. You very helpfully told us that the glitch is not present in the Japanese version of Yellow, as the bicycle music does not play at all in the cave, and that you had not yet come to Victory Road in the English version.
And so, I was wondering if perhaps you had yet reached that point in the English Yellow, and if, then, you might tell me if the quirk occurs in the game. If you have not played so far, of course that is all right. But in such a case, may I ask if perhaps you know another user who has and if we might ask him to check on it? I assume that the glitch is not in the English game if it is not in the Japanese, but I do not own a working copy, and therefore can not see for myself.
Anyway, pardon me please for revisiting the issue after such a long time and for specifically bothering you with it: I do not know if you usually deal with glitches! Thank you very much. Erythro (talk) 03:28, 2 December 2013 (UTC)
- Hello! Please don't be sorry for asking me anything - it's a legit question! Unfortunately due to me marathoning Red, Blue AND Yellow in Japanese a while back, I got a little burned out on Generation I and so I haven't gotten very far yet in my re-play of English Yellow (which I unfortunately had swiped clean at some point). Having said that, I do know several friends who have the game and if I don't get there soon, I will ask to check with them. Thanks for the message! (As for glitches, I have been known to edit and proofread glitch pages on occasion, but it's not a specialty of mine, just a vague interest ;D) --ZestyCactus 03:34, 2 December 2013 (UTC)
- Ahoy! Thank you for your very prompt response; I truly appreciate your help with this endeavor. I, too, have played through Red & Blue several times, but I have never finished Yellow. If you find out about the glitch, please do let me know. I am very glad that I approached you! Thanks again. Erythro (talk) 03:30, 3 December 2013 (UTC)
Roxanne's Nosepass
Is Roxanne's Nosepass notable for its own article? It appeared in every media with Pokémon Adventures determining its notability instead of the anime as it only battled in the anime. PattyMan 04:11, 2 December 2013 (UTC)
- I would say yes as it had multiple battle appearances, had an impact on the main story, and is her signature Pokémon. The additional appearances (anime, games, Pokémon Ruby-Sapphire, etc) will also be able to integrate into the article. --ZestyCactus 02:29, 5 December 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks for your input. On an unrelated topic, if you have a chance, can you check if Red's Clefairy has learned or is revealed to know any more moves, since I discovered a whole bunch and I don't want to constantly edit the page for that reason. If Clefairy uses way more moves than the ones on the list, he might be the next Mew. PattyMan 02:48, 5 December 2013 (UTC)
A couple quick questions
1. When will I be able to update my userspace? 2. I plan on making videos so I can contribute information to the wiki, for example the fossil and Ghost MissingNO.s appearing in Yellow. What free program should I get for that? Irtehmrepic (talk) 21:41, 9 December 2013 (UTC)
- Hello Irtehmrepic, you will be able to create your userpage (as well as any other articles in your userspace, such as User:Irtehmrepic/Whatever) once your account has been autoconfirmed. Your account will become autoconfirmed automatically once you've been a member of the site for a certain amount of time and also made a certain minimum number of edits. Since it's an automatic process, the staff aren't able to force anyone to become autoconfirmed, so just keep contributing and you will find you get autoconfirmed soon enough :). As for the video editing software, that isn't something I know anything about, so you'll be better off asking someone else, sorry! ^^' --ZestyCactus 21:46, 9 December 2013 (UTC)
Contribution!?
- How much can I possibly contribute. This site is basically monopolized by people who have far greater access to official resources. In fact, what would they need me for. Also, taking info from other sites (even though it's all the same information) is frowned upon. And anything I would add to pages would be considered as spam or fancruft (Pikachu has two eyes, Mewtwo can float, Ash never went to school). Even shipping information would have to be debated among a community for it to be added to this site. --Kid Sonic (talk) 13:36, 10 December 2013 (UTC)
- There is plenty of information that still needs to be added. Stubs, Articles needing more information, and Wanted Pages are good starting-off points. There are also many articles that need spelling and grammar correction. Either way, the fact of the matter is, Bulbapedia is not meant as a place to create and edit a userpage only. It's an encyclopedia. Social stuff should be left to the forums - you can join discussions as well as create blogs and such there. If you're unsure about something that needs to be added, you can always bring it up on the article's talk page or contact a staff member. --ZestyCactus 02:30, 11 December 2013 (UTC)
Gold/Ethan Dispute
I may be somewhat new to Bulbapedia (but not to editing Wikis) and this may have been discussed before, but the Gold/Ethan page is full of misinformation. This especially bothers me as Gold/Silver was my favorite game and all of the new information from HeartGold/SoulSilver is being mixed in with it, even though none of it is true.
That is to say, Gold/Silver are separate games from HeartGold/SoulSilver, especially since I really hate the remakes and think they ruined them. (No, I'm not a "GenWunner," though I've been playing since Red & Blue). Basically, my issue is, all of the information is being merged together, when they are separate games. There WAS no "Ethan" in Gold & Silver version. Just like there was no "Lyra" and "Lyra" is not the same person as "Kris."
Like I said, it bothers me because Gold/Silver/Crystal is my favorite game and I dislike the way the ruined, retconned, and ignored everything for HeartGold/SoulSilver. To me, its important to keep them separate and not "merge" all the information together, as if "Ethan" existed in 2000. He did not.
Also, there are wrong pictures being used for the page. Jimmy/Kenta, from the anime, has no mentions outside of the "Ethan" version of him with Donphan. Jimmy/Kenta had a Thyphlosion.
Basically, the page is full of HeartGold bias and I dislike it because I dislike all the changes and retcons they made to HeartGold (especially killing off Kris!) and don't like the idea of the game I fondly remember and loved being retconned into that remake I despise.
I'd like it if it was written as if someone had never played HeartGold and SoulSilver before and all the information isn't ignored/wiped out in favor for the retconned or updated info from the newer games.
I apologize if I don't know all the rules on here. But seeing all the misinformation on that page really bothered me. Maybe you could help me. - unsigned comment from Mcheetah (talk • contribs)
- There is no HGSS bias per se, as you can hate HGSS as much as you want, but that doesn't change the fact that the games are still canon and we have to include them in our articles. It is not misinformation to include canon game information in an article. As Bulbapedia is a fact-based encyclopedia, we have to accept facts regardless of our personal biases, should they exist. (cause quite frankly your post here seems to be driven by your personal bias against HGSS). If it makes you feel any better, I personally hate PokéShipping, but I don't mess around with the article's accepted consensus because the ship still has a major impact on the community and the history of the ship and its impact on the community is still facts. I'm not sure where you get the idea that Kris and Lyra are treated as the same character because you actually edited out the part where they were acknowledged as different characters (see Talk:Kris (game)#Merger tiems for some discussion as well as other topics there and at Talk:Lyra (game). However, it was determined that Ethan is the same as "Gold" (who was not known by any name officially in Generation II). This is the same as how we refer other characters and proper names by their most recent appearances, like Bell Tower as opposed to "Tin Tower". This convention is consistent across all of Bulbapedia. I don't quite understand what your issue is with Jimmy in the article though, sorry. Anyway, as I mentioned, HGSS is the most recent appearances of pretty much all GSC stuff (as they are remakes) we can't exclude them from our articles just because you might not personally like it as facts are still facts. It seems like every issue you have with the article is "they've ruined this" or "I don't like that" which is opinion only. The information is still canon regardless. If you're upset about HGSS being canon, idk, write to Game Freak or something. Regardless, with a major change like this, it should be brought up on the talk page or the forums, not just edited in the article without any discussion. --ZestyCactus 06:03, 29 December 2013 (UTC)
Red link in user's archive
There's a red link to the talk page of a deleted page in TTEchidna's Jan-Mar 2010 archive and it's showing up in the Wanted pages. Since he seems to've left and locked up after himself, I was hoping you could take care of it. Glik (talk) 16:44, 30 December 2013 (UTC)

I've been seeing a little bit about this TCG XY1 comic/manga around, and then they posted this commercial about it. Have you seen anything about it in your travels lately? MaverickNate 19:24, 31 December 2013 (UTC)

Tacopill
Zesty Cactus, Tacopill is posting on a Eeveelution evolution chart talk on a section more than six months old, will you undo that? Cinday123 (Talk) 01:47, 10 January 2014 (UTC)
- Hello Cinday123, as per the talk page policy, it's okay to continue old discussions if something relevant is being added to the discussion, which was the case this time, so I won't be reverting it. Normally, though, you'd be correct that discussions older than six months should not be revived. Thanks for the message. --ZestyCactus 02:35, 10 January 2014 (UTC)
Red link in template
The table with a King's Rock in User talk:Vuvuzela2010/Template:HeldItems is making a red link and I don't know how to remove it without removing the entire table. Glik (talk) 04:35, 11 January 2014 (UTC)
- The template that the user programmed to use with that table seems to be unintentionally linking to an outdated redirect page. Although it was deleted as it was considered an unneeded redirect page, I don't want to mess around with another user's template (which I'd have to do to get rid of the red link). As such, I'd contact Vuvuzela2010 and ask them to modify the template, or, out of laziness, I'd recreate the redirect XD --ZestyCactus 04:44, 11 January 2014 (UTC)
socko
What is it with Spyspotter and his sockpuppets? I don't know why he is continuing to create them despite multiple blocks. PattyMan 20:09, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
- Beats me! Seems like more effort than it's worth cause he always gets caught in the end. It's very frustrating! I have to just keep blocking him I guess since he is permanently banned and is using those socks to evade his permaban. --ZestyCactus 20:26, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
Alright, this needs to stop.
Zesty, can you please tell Pattyman to stop what he's doing? It's obvious that he doesn't know Japanese, and yet he constantly edits pages of manga that haven't been translated into English--official or otherwise. These are clearly made from guesswork, which is always a terrible idea. While we do need articles for these characters, it's a worse idea to just leave piles of potentially false info and hope someone who knows what they're doing will fix them than having no article at all. Ataro (talk) 07:53, 16 January 2014 (UTC)
- I agree that potentially wrong information can be a lot more damaging than having none at all, or limited information that could have potentially huge omissions due to misunderstood translations/guesswork. You may notice I don't add much to some chapter pages, it's because I don't know much Japanese so I don't want to mess it up by mistake :P so I only add really basic stuff to get the articles started when I can. I've sent him a message, feel free to follow up with him or me if you have any other concerns. You can also check the Bulbapedia:Manual of style/Manga#General conventions and see if I've missed any "ground rules" that you think should be addressed. As a fellow manga contributor and staff member, I value your input too :P thanks! --ZestyCactus 02:37, 17 January 2014 (UTC)
Character articles
For the to-do list, can creating character articles go on there since I'm holding off on creating them and it would be appreciative if someone with actual Japanese knowledge can create them? PattyMan 23:27, 17 January 2014 (UTC)
- That's a cool idea, actually. As long as the characters are known to meet the usual notability standards, I'd say go for it. --ZestyCactus 23:40, 17 January 2014 (UTC)

Needed Articles
Hello! I know you've recently been making a few new articles on various Pokémon books. I was looking through needed articles and found that many books such as Pokémon Sticker Series No.1, Pokémon Maze Book No.1 and Pokémon Tattoo Series No.3 are quite high on the list. When I was browsing the internet on "Worlds of Adventures" I found this blog page http://leifdrawing101.blogspot.com.au/2010/09/10-years-ago-right-now-my-pokemon.html. Not sure if it's too helpful but I just thought it was interesting to point out. --Wowy (talk) 05:59, 22 January 2014 (UTC)

- Nate, thanks for the link :) Wowy, I don't know much about the Worlds of Adventures series as I don't own the books myself, so if you are able to help out with those it would be awesome. I am slightly holding out on the sticker series/tattoo series cause I am debating if it might be better to make a consolidated article a la Pokémon Adventure Series instead. I will probably do the Shokotan book next and then the one Nate linked me cause I can at least create a stub easily from that Amazon link :P --ZestyCactus 06:47, 22 January 2014 (UTC)

- The second chapter was included in CoroCoro Ichiban issue March 2014, released 21st January 2014. The second chapter is not yet available on the website.
- With the first chapter being made available on the website to coincide with the release of the second chapter in the magazine (previously, just the preview was available), perhaps the website will host all the chapters, each one being added when the next one comes out in the magazine. Amount of info
When putting in information from a media that is a language that one doesn't know, what's an acceptable amount for an article section to acknowledge that said character appeared in such media? PattyMan 03:49, 11 February 2014 (UTC)
- It can vary depending on the manga but I guess anything you can confirm. When I first added a section for Roxanne in PMRS, for example, since I only have the Japanese version I had left it pretty basic "Roxanne appears in the Pokémon Ruby-Sapphire manga. She first appeared in Clefairy's Training Camp!!. --ZestyCactus 04:59, 15 February 2014 (UTC)
- I only have access to very few English version mangas so the basic ones will be the ones that I don't have access to English wise. At least it's better than inserting anything that doesn't exist in a story. PattyMan 05:27, 15 February 2014 (UTC)
- Ya exactly. --ZestyCactus 06:08, 15 February 2014 (UTC)

Pokémon in Malaysia
Hello Zesty, there's something that bothers me for a long time. I want to upload a picture about the cover of Pokémon Sticker Albums so that the readers know its appearance. But I can't upload it because of the restriction. What should I do? :( Esther Siaw (talk) 15:04, 25 February 2014 (UTC)
- Hi Esther! I agree that a picture would help out the article too ^^' all uploads are done through the Bulbagarden Archives (link). Make sure that you are logged in (you may have to log in again, sometimes it doesn't log you in automatically since it's a separate wiki from Bulbapedia, although on the same project so your usual login should work) Otherwise, you may need to be autoconfirmed on the archives before your upload will work. You can see the Archives FAQ for more information about uploading if you're still having problems. Hope that helps! Let me know if you still have any unresolved questions ^^' --ZestyCactus 02:27, 26 February 2014 (UTC)

in Template:Evobox/Setup. That'll prevent the image from being huge, at least. Template:Evobox-2 does quite a bit more for its images, but I don't know that Evobox/Setup needs the same things, and some of the parameters in Evobox-2 I suspect are never passed to Evobox/Setup on any page (which, again, means it wouldn't need those). Tiddlywinks (talk) 03:28, 28 February 2014 (UTC)- Ugh, edit conflict (unbelievable, I know). My template code is ready. It has some ifeq or whatever left on it, and it removed the template categories (the ones for the template, not the transcluded ones), but other than that, it's fine. Pikachu Bros. (talk) 03:38, 28 February 2014 (UTC)
- It looks to me like all you need to do is replace
I thought I'd check the other evo templates to see if Setup was the last outdated one, and I discovered that updating Setup broke Template:Evobox/Formes (on Castform, for example, and others). I mocked up updates to the Formes and Setup templates at User:Tiddlywinks/Template:Evobox/Formes and User:Tiddlywinks/Template:Evobox/Setup to make Formes work with artwork, with an example of their usage at Bulbapedia:Sandbox#Castform evolution artwork. (I made Setup use a "sprite" parameter that will (optionally, for Formes) just specify the whole filename, and I made Formes use the sprite parameter when it calls Setup instead of the first parameter (which is only used in the filename anyway).) Would you update the mainspace templates with that userpage code? (And, if necessary, delete those two userpages I made afterwards.) Tiddlywinks (talk) 21:51, 28 February 2014 (UTC)
- Done and done. Thanks for your hard work :) I couldn't have done it without your help, haha. Seems to be working now, I checked Castform and Keldeo and seems good now. I can delete your userpages if you wish (not a big deal either way, but might avoid confusing others later on). --ZestyCactus 22:32, 28 February 2014 (UTC)
- Well, they are "working", but they're not using artwork (which I didn't quite anticipate, but it's neat; and easy to fix anyway, like I showed in the sandbox).
- I also just realized, though, that Template:Evobox is a problem too if we're using artwork. Given its name (and the names of other evo templates), I thought it was used for more, but it's actually only used for branched evos and Pokemon with forms (like Sawsbuck) or other differences (like Jellicent). ...I'm wondering if perhaps the best solution here isn't just to always tell Evobox/Setup the full name of the image to use. A fix for this I'll have to think about a bit; and in light of this, it'd be nice if you left the userpages alone for a bit for now (I may want to use my Setup, at least). Tiddlywinks (talk) 22:43, 28 February 2014 (UTC)
Okay, it turns out that (IMO) the best solution from the beginning would have been to just add the height-limit to Template:Evobox/Setup, and then change what everything that uses that template passes to it.
(You can see Bulbapedia:Sandbox#Evolution artwork again for examples of how my userspace templates currently work, and you can compare my userspace templates (Setup and Formes) to the changes I suggest below and they should come out the same except for the template names (the "User:Tiddlywinks/"etc...).)
So, in Template:Evobox/Setup:
{{#if: {{{sprite|}}}|{{{sprite}}}|{{{1|083}}}{{{2|Farfetch'd}}}}}.png
should become{{{1|083}}}.png
(or...)
For Template:Evobox/Formes, you can just revert that right back to the previous revision (if you care about the "bad formatting" <br><br><br>
, you can keep the "good" <br></br></br>
).
Then, the protected templates below need these changes made to make them use artwork...

After that, similar updates will need to be made to the Pokemon pages using Setup (like Sawsbuck, Oddish, and more (which will include Formes except it's currently using my userspace Setup)). I'll be more than happy to do those, though.
I'll put delete notices on the userspace pages I created after I've updated all those mainspace Pokemon pages and I know we're out of the woods. =P Thanks, and sorry for the runaround this has turned into. =P Tiddlywinks (talk) 01:26, 1 March 2014 (UTC)

Mega Pokémon Sprites
Two things, one congratz on your big promotion.
Now that we have that out of the way, have the Mega Pokémon sprites been uploaded yet? I notice a lot of the articles that feature Mega Pokémon are using the Pokémon's normal sprite. Or is this one of those template things that have yet to be figured out/put into effect? Yamitora1 (talk) 02:16, 28 February 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks! :) unfortunately, the bad news is we don't have the files yet. Our source for the regular menu sprites didn't have the Mega Evolution ones. Due to this, we'll have to make due with the plain ones until we have a source that can offer them to us freely. Sorry bout that! As soon as we can get em, you'll see them :) --ZestyCactus 01:06, 6 March 2014 (UTC)

Legendary Pokémon: The Essential Guide - Sinnoh Edition
Hey! I was recently on this page. I don't have this book, but I found that the entries are sort of dodgy. The entries here in the preview are very different to the ones on the page. Engllish versions
If an online version of a manga has English text but the covers are in Japanese, does it count as an official English version? PattyMan 05:19, 2 April 2014 (UTC)
- Unless it's from a bonafide official online source such as the Perfect Square app, I would err on the side of "not official" unless you can be 100% certain that it's real. --ZestyCactus 23:31, 2 April 2014 (UTC)
- Sites containing scans are not official? PattyMan 23:54, 2 April 2014 (UTC)
- Well you're being really vague to be honest so I may have misunderstood your question. --ZestyCactus 00:32, 3 April 2014 (UTC)
- Sites containing scans are not official? PattyMan 23:54, 2 April 2014 (UTC)
Questions
I've got two questions concerning the Adventures chapter pages. 1. The DP-chapter page contains a note that the page lacks the rounds' names, but the other pages do not. Are the names to be used on the pages at some point? 2. Could the Important events- sections (or some part of the pages) contain a link to the Adventures timeline page? It would be fitting. - Regarding the incomplete notice, I've removed it since none of the chapter articles use round names for lists like that, nor do similar lists for the anime. So the current state of the article is fine as it is consistent with others. As for your second point, sounds like a fine idea to me. I'm always up for linking to other pages more frequently and I believe the anime articles provide similar links to the anime timeline page. --ZestyCactus 23:31, 2 April 2014 (UTC)
