Public information is information related to a Pokémon Trading Card Game match that is readily accessible by either player at any time (as long as such requests are not used for stalling). Public information includes:
- All cards in play:
- Pokémon (including any evolutionary stages underneath)
- Energy cards
- Trainer cards (including Supporters, Stadiums, Tools, and any regular Trainers in play)
- The cards in each player's discard pile.
- The number of cards in a player's hand, deck or remaining Prize cards
This becomes particularly relevant when cards like Cedric Juniper and Blaine's Quiz 3 sre played. These cards ask the opponent to guess a property of an unknown card. When these cards are played, the opponent can freely access any public information, which may provide hints to the property of the unknown card.[1] This is even easier if a different copy of the card happens to be visible. For cards that specifically reference height or length, like Blaine's Quiz 1, a correct guess can be all but guaranteed if a second copy of the card is available for reference.
