Ash capturing a Passimian

I've seen a lot of predictions going around that Ash might capture a Passimian and seeing the translation it might happen. Now, i'm not planning to change the article until it is confirmed, but someone else might think differently. I'm also no admin but maybe a lock? Just in case. Danny199 (talk) 19:34, 24 February 2018 (UTC)

If it becomes a problem, then it'll get locked. Right now, there's no reason to lock it.--ForceFire 02:48, 25 February 2018 (UTC)

Banning

It's probably a fairly safe assumption that it's been skipped by the dub because of Ash's Passimian blackface, but do we have any actual confirmation that it's been intentionally skipped?--Bardock 21:58, 6 July 2018 (UTC)

Yeah, I'm quite surprised to hear of this news. Can you provide a source for the skipping, Abcboy? GrammarFreak01 (talk) 22:10, 6 July 2018 (UTC)
I was quite shocked too. We have not had a widely banned episode for... 15 years! Not a single one since EP250 in the Johto saga. MH (talk) 22:56, 6 July 2018 (UTC)
what about These Two ? Azure/ChromeVoid42 (talk) 10:43, 7 July 2018 (UTC)

I think its stupid. There's no way the blackface was the reason for skipping that episode. If it was, The Pokemon Company International or Disney would said something about it. Besides, it doesn't even look like blackface to me. His face was painted black save for the eyes. Even his lips were painted black. No, I think they're planning on saving it for football season since the Passimian plays like a football player. This Abcboy guy, can't claim it was banned without proof from both the TPCi and Disney because even an email is not proof enough. Even various websites get their source of the episode banned from this site. Kinda stupid since their source is from a wiki site, where anyone can edit it. Char89 (talk) 20:57, 3 August 2018 (UTC)
Abcboy is the head administrator for the anime. He has contact with someone from TPCi and got confirmation that it was intentionally skipped. I imagine he can't actually post the email for legal reasons.--ForceFire 04:01, 4 August 2018 (UTC)
Well I still say The Pokemon Company International would say something about it instead of pretending that the episode doesn't exist. I mean there are some things in the episode besides this "blackface", like for example the old lady at the market, Ms. Moani I think was her name, was impressed on Torracat's evolution from the previous episode. Not to mention the plot in the episode talks about overcoming bullying, the Passimian from Akala were bullying the Passimian in Melemele, and the leader Tiny, lost his motivation because of Claw's cruel bullying method and making the Melemele Greens their slaves. I know its just a filler episode, but the anime is full of filler episodes, and sometimes the events of these filler episodes are mentioned in flashbacks in future episodes. What if the anime decides to have the Passimian reappear in the future and Ash acknowledge them like they know them? Or are they gonna plan to erase the Passimian from existence in the dub? *sighs* Well if TPCi wants to skip it, I guess I understand, and hey maybe they'll change their mind and edit the episode so that instead of having Ash's face covered in black paint, he would have football marks on his cheeks. Of course, the chances of that happening is extremely, extremely low. Char89 (talk) 17:17, 6 August 2018 (UTC)
Did I forget to mention that some fans, including African Americans don't even care about the blackface controversy anymore? And that some fans think the entire Bulbapedia community keeps jumping to conclusions and they want to hear it from the TPCi themselves? A lot of fans are switching to Japanese airings because they want to see the episodes unedited, uncut, much like Funimation's Dragon Ball DVDs. Char89 (talk) 17:34, 6 August 2018 (UTC)
