Bede's hair color

Isn't his hair color light gray instead of blonde? I wanted to change this but only administrators can edit this page at the moment. --SamurottTrainer (talk) 09:38, 9 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

I'd say it's platinum blond, so a whitish blond. I've updated the page accordingly. --SnorlaxMonster 10:52, 9 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
Alright, thank you! --SamurottTrainer (talk) 13:16, 9 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Bede's battle theme

It seems the portion of Bede's battle theme that is remixed from the Pokémon World Tournament final battle music in Pokémon Black 2 and White 2 is itself remixed from the music of Ecruteak City in Pokémon Gold and Silver...I'm not sure what to do with that information. Would that be a more appropriate edit here on Bede's page, on the Pokémon World Tournament page, or Ecruteak City's page?--N8i2c7k (talk) 11:10, 12 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Which part of the battle theme is remixed from the final battle music from Black 2 and White 2's Pokémon World Tournament? That was just an interesting tidbit.

The Copperajah Bede borrows

Isn't the Copperajah Bede borrows to destroy the mural in Stow-on-Side Chairman Rose's same Copperajah he owns and uses in battle? Just wondering because he doesn't say he has any other Copperajah in his possession.

Hatterene in Champion tournaments having a fire move

In my first playthrough, during the Champion tournaments, Bede's Hatterene used max flare against my aegishield. For sure it has a fire move on it. The set shown here is probably incorrect.Nayfaan (talk) 19:24, 29 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Just asking whoever doublechecks this to also check Bede's other Pokémon's movesets if possible. Nescientist (talk) 22:28, 29 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

The name

I found that his name is very easy to misunderstand in Viet Nam, my nation. Because his name can be mistaken as bê đê (mean 'gay'). It could make a discrimination. - unsigned comment from Mike Joy (talkcontribs)

Vietnamese media usually uses Japanese names for people anyway and his name would be Beet, so I don't see how this is a concern. Kikugi (talk) 12:18, 5 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

Name trivia

I did some research into this and posted to the Discord, but the edits I made a while ago have been removed probably because they were reaching/too long heh...

For context of course, Sword and Shield is set in the UK. Regarding Anglish, which dates back to the English natives, the Anglo-Saxons and the importance of Danelaw and the Danish, one of the scholars/monks of the time is St Bede who is frequently spoken about in the Anglo-Saxon article.

Bede's name is ビート, which is Japanese pronounced as beet, and Bede in Danish is beet(root), which gives him his purple colour on his character model. But also bede in Danish is to pray, linking back to the St Bede. With the 908 number being "clever", this probably links in with St Bede being a scholar. To top it all off, his type transformed during the game from psychic to fairy, a religious connotation perhaps? He is the only trainer to ever do this in-game, and also the only male fairy gym leader.
