Trivia
- International releases of this card altered the color of Jynx's face to circumvent the blackface controversy. As a result, Jynx's face was changed from black to dark purple for the Base Set and lightened even more so for subsequent reprints.
- In the international and Virtual Console releases of the Pokémon Trading Card Game, the background of this card was changed from black to dark purple (international) and light purple (Virtual Console) to coincide with the alterations.
- The English version of this card was the first to have a TCG-exclusive Pokédex entry.
Origin
Double Slap, formatted on this card as Doubleslap, is a move in the Pokémon games that Jynx can learn. Meditate is a move in the Pokémon games that Jynx cannot learn until Pokémon Gold and Silver by breeding in Generation II onwards. This card's Japanese Pokédex entry comes from Pokémon Red and Green.
