== Dot as a Protagonist VS Main Character ==
This is sort of related to the discussion going on the [[HZ050]] page, where there seems to be confusion regarding Dot's status as a protagonist. The source listed on this page is relationship chart, where only Liko and Roy are listed as protagonists (主人公), while Dot does not have any sort of label. Where I think the confusion is stemming from, comes from whether a character is a protagonist vs a main character, because they are not mutually exclusive. As far as I can tell, the only anime characters called protagonists by Japanese sources are Ash, Dawn, Goh (these two are listed alongside Ash in the opening narration in their respective series), Liko, and Roy. Chloe not being listed as a main character also comes from this exclusion, however, I have never seen any sort of doubting as to whether or not Brock is a considered one during the Diamond and Pearl portion of the anime. Going off of that, I have also not found a source as to whether or not characters like Misty or Serena are called protagonists, yet they are still considered main characters. What I am getting at is, why are we using instances of the word protagonist to exclude some characters (Chloe, Dot), when other characters similarly aren't called protagonists (Brock, Misty, etc.).
I think a better source to distinguish whether or not a character is considered specifically a main character, should be the order they are listed in the credits, namely characters regularly listed on the first page of the ending credits in the Japanese endings. This would include all the characters we currently have listed (Ash, all his friends, Liko, and Roy), Jessie, James, Meowth, Wobufett, Kukui, Samson Oak, Chloe, and Dot. English name for ドット
There has been multiple reversions of an addition of fan translations of the real name ドット. A Japanese-only name feels out of place, though. I suggest a tentative removal of her real name in the lead section, and wait for official sources to come out. 馬Horse (talk) 11:53, 20 May 2023 (UTC)
- Simple thing is, the name you gave was a fan translation, not the confirmed English name which we use. Only when the English name is confirmed do we add it.--BigDocFan, Junior Admin Bulbapedia (talk) 11:59, 20 May 2023 (UTC)
Move to Dot
Wouldn't it be better to move this page to Dot which is the real character's name and just like with characters with alter egos? It's not like the reveal of her identity is a huge plot twist for the anime.--Hikaru Wazana (talk) 18:03, 20 May 2023 (UTC)
- I asked the other admin about this, AbcBoy replied I'd say it should be up to whether we see more of Dot or Nidothing in the future. For instance, if they update the official website to list Dot instead of Nidothing--BigDocFan, Junior Admin Bulbapedia (talk) 18:09, 20 May 2023 (UTC)
Dot's romaji name
This has been reverted multiple times. ドット (Dot) is her Japanese name, shouldn't her romanization be Dotto and not Dot?
From Kanshudo: "The small kana 'tsu' symbol, either hiragana っ or katana ッ, is usually used to represent a doubled consonant, known in Japanese as a そくおん 促音 , as in for example ハット (hat) or やっぱり (as expected) or あっさり (readily). The tsu symbol essentially causes whatever consonant begins the next kana to be doubled, so ハット is actually pronounced something like ha-t-to." QuickJolteon (talk) 19:40, 20 May 2023 (UTC)
- "Dot" is an actual name, and ドット is normally romanized as "Dot".--ForceFire 10:22, 21 May 2023 (UTC)
- Better explanation: We use the actual names that are being transliterated, not the Hepburn romanization of the names. ドット is Dotto in Hepburn romanization, but the actual name being transliterated here (as used as the official/trademark romanization) is "Dot". Quaxly?
Do we know that the Quaxly is actually Dot's pokemon? It doesn't seem that is confirmed anywhere. For all we know, Quaxly could be only a random pokemon living on the ship that just happens to like to appear in Dot's videos. --Nayfaan (talk)(contributions) 23:40, 20 May 2023 (UTC)

Eyes photo
While the article already has a picture of her with her hair up, I think this one is better, since it's larger and clearer and showcases her eyes better. Should we add it too? 500px Kikugi (talk) 08:57, 5 August 2023 (UTC)
Dot as third protagonist
Should we call Dot as one of the protagonists since she now became Quaxly's trainer? Nintenchris5963 (talk) 05:38, 8 August 2023 (UTC)
- Actually, no. Dot is still the supporting character. --Dharakjoo (talk) 10:24, 8 August 2023 (UTC)
- Agreed, Dot currently feels more like a member of the RVT's then a main protagonist like Liko and Roy--BigDocFan, Junior Admin Bulbapedia (talk) 10:25, 8 August 2023 (UTC)
- She's similar to Chloe in Journeys: a notable recurring character who's not a main character. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 10:53, 8 August 2023 (UTC)
- The official character relationship chart still only lists Liko and Roy as the protagonists. Immblueversion (talk) 15:27, 9 August 2023 (UTC)

Dot's Tinkatink
Why does Tinkatink lacks a main article? She was captured by Dot and throughout the episode she showed quite of a personality. Esquilo30 (talk) 13:26, 16 February 2024 (UTC)
- Dot isn't considered a main character compared to Liko and Roy so her Pokemon don't get their own page, one notable episode isn't enough to warrant her own page at present.--BigDocFan, Junior Admin Bulbapedia (talk) 13:31, 16 February 2024 (UTC)
