List of typos

This is a list of typos in Pokémon media.

In the core series games

Pokémon Red, Blue, and Yellow

• In the instruction manuals of Pokémon Red, Blue, and Yellow, Viridian Forest is misspelled as Viridan Forest in the section about Route 2.

Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire

• In Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire, the description of Togepi doll is misspelled as "A TOPGEPI doll." in the version 1.0, but this was corrected in the version 1.1.
• In Pokémon Ruby only, Mawile is misspelled as "MAWHILE" twice in the Pokédex from the version 1.0, but this was corrected in the version 1.1.
• Norman's dialogue for giving the player the Eon Ticket contains numerous formatting errors. There is a quotation mark after Norman's name instead of a colon, and no space between the comma and the player's name.

Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen

• In Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen, in the Teachy TV topic "How to register an item," the Poké Dude says "Once an item in the KEY ITEMS POKCET is registered, you can use it by pressing SELECT."

Pokémon Diamond and Pearl

• In the main menu of Diamond and Pearl, if a FireRed and LeafGreen cart is present in Slot 2 of the DS, the migration option is incorrectly stated as "Migrate from Fire Red" or "Migrate from Leaf Green", with a space in the middle of the version name. This typo was fixed in Platinum, HeartGold and SoulSilver.

Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver

• In Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver, when the player has a completely filled National Pokédex (minus event Pokémon), Professor Oak says this in his congratulatory speech: "Meeting you is something l will cherish all my life long!", using a lowercase L instead of a capital I.
• In Pokémon SoulSilver only, Froslass's Pokédex entry is missing the period at the end. The same Pokédex entry appears in HeartGold and in later games, with the period present.

Pokémon Black 2 and White 2

• In Pokémon Black 2 and White 2, a Lass in Accumula Town asks to see a Pokémon that is 17' (5 m) or larger. Upon showing her one, she says "Wow! Amazing! a <Pokémon> is sooooo big!", beginning a sentence with a lowercase A instead of a capital.

Pokémon Sword and Shield

• In Pokémon Sword and Shield, the Curry Dex's description for the Spicy Decorative Curry begins with "Despite it's cute look, the curry roux is overly spicy.", using the contraction "it's" instead of the proper possessive "its".

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

• In The Teal Mask DLC, when the player first talks to the Glitterati, Billy says "decieve" instead of "deceive". In subsequent encounters, which all also use the word "deceive", it is spelled correctly.

In the side series games

Pokémon Colosseum

• After Rider Nelis is defeated in The Under Subway in Pokémon Colosseum, her name is misspelled as "Nelia" if she's spoken to afterwards.
• After defeating Cipher Peon Baila in the Snagem Hideout in Pokémon Colosseum, there is no colon separating her name from her defeat speech.

Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness

• After removing the Pokémon Translator from Dash's Castform in Phenac City in Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness, Dash says "Oh! My CASTFROM cried!"

In the spin-off games

PokéPark Wii: Pikachu's Adventure

• In PokéPark Wii: Pikachu's Adventure, the dialogue string "[...] not so far away are your Empoleon?", prior to thawing the door to Empoleon's Snow Slide with the help of Mamoswine's charge attack, presumably "your" should have been replaced with "you" instead.
• In Treecko's description: "He works for Venusaur in the Meadow Zone. He blocked the bride to stop anyone playing, but really he loves the Attractions to be found there!". It should be "bridge" instead of "bride". This has been fixed in newer versions of the game.
• In the German version, when Munchlax thanks the player, "PokéPark" is misspelled as "ParkPoké" in the dialogue string.

Pokémon Trading Card Game series

• In the American English version of Pokémon Trading Card Game, the two available Ninetales cards (the card from Base Set and the card exclusive to Game Boy) have their name misspelled as "Ninetails", but the correct name "Ninetales" is found in the description of Base Set Ninetales's Fire Blast attack.
  • This was fixed in the two multilingual European versions. They both include the option to play in English, which includes "Ninetales" written correctly.

Pokémon Play It! series

"nemed"

• In Pokémon Play It! and Pokémon Play It! Version 2, the Academy Entrance Exam quiz game has two certificates available to the player: one for 10 points and another for 20 points.
  • In both games, the second certificate has "20points" written with no space even though the preceding certificate correctly includes a space in "10 points".
  • In Play It! Version 2 only, the second certificate includes the typo "a trainer nemed hereon" instead of "a trainer named hereon".

Pokémon Pinball series

• In Pokémon Pinball, Fuchsia City is misspelled as "Fuchia City".
• In Pokémon Pinball: Ruby & Sapphire, the Spheal bonus stage is referred to as "Bonus Challange" instead of "Bonus Challenge" in both the Slots and the Pokémon Mart.
  • This misspelled English text was introduced in the Japanese version of this game, but was also retained in the English version.

Pokémon Puzzle League

• Pokémon Puzzle League, Viridian City is misspelled as "Virdian City" in Giovanni's character profile.

Pokémon Team Turbo

• In Pokémon Team Turbo, Rayquaza is misspelled as "Rayquayza" in the list of player characters available for the races.
  • This typo does not affect the Charizard's Crossword Challenge and Mudkip's Word Finder minigames. Although they require the player to write names of Pokémon species, these minigames use a separate list of Pokémon names that does not include Rayquaza.

In the anime

• Twerp is sometimes misspelled as twirp in closed captioning.

Original series

• In Primeape Goes Bananas, the Pokémon League advertisement is written as "POCKEMON LEAG" on a Poké Ball.
• In It's Mr. Mime Time, the title card misspells Mr. Mime as Mr. Mimie.
• In Showdown at the Po-ké Corral, the world "Corral" is misspelled as "Corrall" in the title card.
• In Mewtwo Strikes Back, the retyped ending credits of the remastered version misspell the song title "Don't Say You Love Me" as "Don't Say Your Love Me", and accidentally list Bolly Crawford instead of Billy Crawford as the singer of the opening song.
• In Poké Ball Peril, the title misspells Poké Ball as Pokéball, without the space.

Pokémon the Series: Ruby and Sapphire

• In Going, Going, Yawn, Forretress is misspelled as Foretress in the Pokémon Trainer's Choice feature.
• In The Bicker the Better, Onix is misspelled as Onyx in the Pokémon Trainer's Choice feature.
• In Lessons in Lilycove, Claydol Big and Tall, and Showdown At Linoone, Flaaffy is misspelled as Flaafy in the Pokémon Trainer's Choice feature.
• In Choose It or Lose it!, the title card is misspelled as Choose It or Loose It!.
• In Hooked On Onix, the title card misspells Onix as Onyx.

Pokémon the Series: Diamond and Pearl

• In Setting the World On Its Buneary!, the first airing of the dub used "it's" instead of "its" in the title card. This was fixed for the home video release, reruns and streaming releases.

Pokémon the Series: Black and White

• In Movie Time! Zorua in "The Legend of the Pokémon Knight"!, the title card misspells "Pokémon" was misspelled as Pokemon, without the e-acute (é). This was fixed in all home video releases and streaming releases.

In the TCG

• Some copies of Beedrill from Base Set were printed with a period in the word "D.efending", in Poison Sting's attack text.
• In Electabuzz from EX Unseen Forces, this Pokémon is written with as Electabuz with a single "z", in the description of Stages of Evolution.
