After watching the fanmade PMD2 opening of "Nageki no Mori," it had me thinking. Personally, I think the Mystery Dungeon series and Higurashi are alike. The games have a "question arc," which is the main game required to beat and an "answer arc," the post credits story where you find out the cause of everything.
