An [[errata]] was ultimately issued so that the card was treated more like the Expedition print with a slight tweak for 2-on-2 play. e-Reader data

The Expedition Base Set print includes a Dot Code strip for use with the e-Reader, and has the card ID B-55-#. The short strip contains a brief card summary. There is no long strip for this card.

Release information

The card was translated under the tentative name of Pokémon Reverse. It was then officially released as part of the Expedition Base Set, originating from the Japanese Base Expansion Pack.

It was reprinted in EX Ruby & Sapphire, first originating from the Japanese Torchic Constructed Starter Deck, with new artwork by Hiromichi Sugiyama, which is famous for seemingly mangling the intended effect (see above). The change caused quite a stir, as if the effect had been changed from being a "flip for Gust of Wind" to "flip for half a Warp Point". An errata was ultimately issued so that the card was treated more like the Expedition print with a slight tweak for 2-on-2 play. The reprinted versions that appeared in EX FireRed & LeafGreen and EX Unseen Forces featured the adjusted text.

Pokémon Reversal was later reclassified in Japan as an Item card during the HeartGold & SoulSilver Series, though the English Trainer cards did not adopt this naming convention until after this card's latest print. HeartGold & SoulSilver featured new artwork by Wataru Kawahara, and the Japanese Battle Starter Decks featured yet another new illustration by Hideaki Hakozaki.
