The Secret Key (Japanese: ひみつのカギ Secret Key) is an Key Item. It is shaped like Rotom's head, with the outline of its eyes and mouth visible under the coat of Rotom-orange plastic. The key's teeth look like the prongs of an electrical plug.
In Pokémon Platinum, it was the first of four event items in the Sinnoh-based games, being followed by the Member Card, Oak's Letter, and Azure Flute. In Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, the player will automatically obtain the Secret Key upon catching Rotom.
