Information
Missingno. Master (Japanese: けつばんマスタ Ketsuban Master) is a member of Bulbapedia, and most notably, the Serebii.net Forums.  He derived his user name from his self-proclaimed status as a Pokémon Master, and his love of Missingno., his absolute favorite Pokémon.  He is notable for his tremendous collection of shiny2 Pokémon.  Lately, he has been coming up with ideas for new Pokémon.

Missingno. Master's How-Tos
Missingno. Master's How-Tos are a series of text-based lessons detailing how to accomplish certain Pokémon-based feats, mostly within the games.

How to use unevolved Pokémon in competitive battle
Trick Room
Many unevolved Pokémon that are usable in competitive battle have decent offensive stats, but more often than not lack the speed to effectively compete.  While the usage of Ninjask's Baton Pass can help with this very greatly, Trick Room is often a quicker and more reliable method.

An easy way to set up Trick Room is to use an unevolved Pokémon with Trick Room and Destiny Bond, preferably at level 1, holding a Focus Sash.  The basis for this is simple: Foe uses attack, you hold on with Focus Sash, use Trick Room, then use Destiny Bond and take out the opponent.  The only unevolved Pokémon that can utilize this strategy at level 1 are Duskull, Shuppet, Gastly, and Ralts.

After Trick Room is set up, you have 4 turns in which to sweep.  The best Trick Room sweeper is Munchlax, given that its base 5 Speed stat is tied with Shuckle's for the lowest speed in history (nothing can outspeed it in Trick Room, in other words).

Previously fully evolved Pokémon
With every generation comes new evolutions of Pokémon that previously were considered fully evolved.  In most, if not all, cases, these new evolutions completely outclassed their pre-evolutions.  Sadly, most people dump the old Pokémon and instead cling to their new evolutions.  In some cases, this is justifiable.  However, there are some now-unevolved Pokémon that can still cut it in today's competitive battling.

How to make Cascoon useful
No, of course Cascoon isn't at all viable in competitive battling.  But it does know a move that could be the key to a key Dustox strategy- Iron Defense.

EVs: 250 HP, 200 Sp. Def, 60 Def.

The idea here is to create a tanking situation.  Dustox has a moderately usable Special Defense stat, and a noticeably lackluster, yet workable, Defense stat.  Light Screen doubles the Special Defense, meaning Dustox can take special hits from all but the most powerful Ground and Psychic moves (and even then, it might survive- just don't expect it to brush off a CSpecs Gengar Psychic attack).  Iron Defense, only learnable in the Cascoon stage, is for upping the Defense stat into something moderately respectable.  Roost owns Moonlight in terms of HP recovery- an active Sand Stream or Snow Warning can screw over Moonlight, not to mention its pitiful PP count of 8-at best!  Roost, however, restores a constant amount of 50% of the user's HP.  Plus, its side effect of removing the user's flying type for the remainder of the turn isn't felt, because 1; Dustox is so slow it'll be going last most of the time anyway, and 2; Dustox isn't even a flying type!  The last move is up to you, but no matter what you choose, it won't work on everything.  Toxic is great- until you're up against a Poison-type, a Steel-type, something with Immunity, or worse, Guts and Earthquake.  Swagger is a bit iffy, given that Dustox's Defense isn't all too great, and Dustox can't afford much physical damage to begin with.  Bug Buzz, very iffy, coming off of a base 50 Special Attack stat, but with STAB, and the chance to reduce the foe's Special Defense, it's hard to pass up.

Missingno. Master's online history
Many years ago, Missingno. Master first became acquainted with the internet on PokémonCrater.com, though he had joined that website under the user name of Wynautfan (a reference to the fact that Wynaut is one of his favorite Pokémon).  He had started with a Torchic which he promptly evolved into a Combusken.  He then used Combusken to battle the PokémonCrater-exclusive Dratinice.  After much usage of items and exchanges of attacks, Missingno. Master finally subdued Dratinice and captured it in a Master Ball (which at that time did NOT have a 100% capture rate in PokémonCrater).  Afterwards, Dratinice being level 80, Wynautfan quickly moved through the game, obtaining many badges, and evolved Dratinice into Dratinire.  Soon afterwards, he was using Google to find good Pokémon information and stumbled upon Serebii.net.  He liked the reliable information the website provided, and soon afterwards joined the forums under the name Missingno. Master.

The Missingno. Master Forums
Soon after the Celebi Glitch was discovered, Serebii of the Serebii.net forums vehemently denied the existance of the glitch, and went so far as to disallow discussion of the glitch anywhere on the forums.  Several members of the Missingno. club (which has since been disbanded), including Missingno. Master decided to make their own Missingno.-based forum, one Jigpuff being the leader.  Missingno. Master started out as a moderator, then was eventually promoted to Admin.  Soon afterwards, however, he made the grave mistake of signing on to the forums late at night, half asleep.  Long story short, he took over the forums, demoting everyone except himself.  Shortly afterwards, when wide awake, he saw what he had done, and immediately fixed it.  Jigpuff, however, being cruel and unforgiving, blind to his sincere remorse, demoted him to member, and for some time, took away his posting ability.  Eventually, he was banned for no reason.  Shortly afterwards, he created the Missingno. Master forums, which still exist today (and are in DIRE need of more members).

Missingno. Master (Japanese: けつばんマスタ Ketsuban Master) is a member of Bulbapedia and many other Pokémon sites- most notably, the Serebii.net Forums. He is notable for his extensive knowledge on Pokémon, as well as his tremendous collection of Shiny Pokémon.
History
Before assuming his current username, Missingno. Master's first appearance on a Pokémon site was under the username WynautFan, on the old Pokémon Crater site. Not long after that, he discovered Serebii.net, and eventually signed up on its forums under the username Missingno. Master. Eventually, he signed up on Bulbagarden's forums, and of course, Bulbapedia. He is also a member of GameFAQs, though goes by the username of Missingno_Mastr there (though insists that he be referred to as Missingno. Master, as opposed to the spelling he uses in his username).
Personality and characteristics
Missingno. Master is self-described as an agreeable, pleasant person to talk to. He has a tendency to come up with new ideas for Pokémon, and has a particular penchant for drawing inspiration for them from inanimate objects, such as a bag of potato chips, the arrows Cupid is said to shoot to make people fall in love, and even a snow cloud.
A lover of Pokémon glitches and glitch Pokémon alike, Missingno. Master has long been a mostly reliable source of information on many Pokémon glitches, which led to him starting Bulbapedia's Project GlitchDex, as well as an organization known as The Order of the Glitch, which once served to try and make people view glitch Pokémon as real Pokémon. The organization has long since disbanded, though Missingno. Master has shown interest in reviving it as a less radical organization that would merely serve to prevent the spread of misinformation on how harmful certain glitches and glitch Pokémon really are. Though he knows a lot about Pokémon glitches and glitch Pokémon, he concedes that he still does not know everything about them, though this hasn't stopped him from trying to learn everything about them.
As a contributor to Bulbapedia, Missingno. Master doesn't make as many contributions as he used to, though he has been known to stalk the Recent Changes, and make changes wherever he deems necessary. How well these changes are actually received is another matter altogether.
Outside of Pokémon, his interests are few and far between. He enjoys the TV show Supernatural, among other shows, and an assortment of newspaper comic strips. He also enjoys food, particularly bacon.
Pokémon games
As far as Pokémon games go, they are more or less what Missingno. Master is all about. His very first Pokémon games were Pokémon Red Version and Pokémon Yellow Version, both of which he received simultaneously on the morning of his 10th birthday, as gifts from his parents. Later that day, he acquired a copy of Pokémon Blue Version as a present from relatives. His very first Pokémon was the Red he started with in Yellow, and the first Pokémon he ever caught was a Pidgey.
Over the years, Missingno. Master accumulated an impressive collection of Pokémon games, including every single main series game from the current six generations, and most of the spin-off games, even including three games for the Pokémon mini system. Not counting the Super Smash Bros. series, his Pokémon games are as follows;

Pokémon
Missingno. Master owns hundreds of Pokémon, spread across various games. He has one of every species legitimately available in Generation VI, split between Omega Ruby and Pokémon Bank, purposely keeping any species in Bank he does not normally keep in-game, to accelerate the process of Pokédex completion. He has a complete collection of Vivillon patterns, including the event-exclusive ones, and a complete set of Unown, which he keeps in alphabetical order. He likes to use the latter collection as a "keyboard" when trading with a stranger, to try and "type" messages to them, usually to attempt to convey what sort of Pokémon he's after. This, however, rarely works. This practice dates back to the days of GTS Negotiations.
A large chunk of Missingno. Master's collection consists of Pokémon he uses for competitive battle. Most, if not all of them, are trained with single battles in mind, those being Missingno. Master's area of expertise; he is much less skilled at Double or Triple Battles, though he has been known to immensely enjoy Rotation Battles. He tries to not favor any one of them, though ends up using his Weezing a lot, to the point where it has become known as his signature Pokémon. He is also fond of using his Scolipede, which he refers to as his trump card. Indeed, his Scolipede has turned the tide of many battles in his favor.
Missingno. Master harbors a soft spot for Pokémon he uses in-game, and once he has beaten a game, if he feels he has formed a bond with his team, he will add them to a series of PC boxes from which he rotates Pokémon on and off his team for in-game use- battling NPCs, using HM moves, weakening wild Pokémon he intends to catch, and the like. Prominent among these are an Octillery he caught in Johto for the purpose of using in the Bug-Catching Contest due to its Suction Cups Ability- he was worried about potential Shiny Butterfree, Beautifly, and Dustox with Whirlwind, and now uses Octillery when chain fishing. The Ability came in handy when he hooked a Shiny Dratini who had an aversion to staying in thrown Poké Balls and a tendency to spam Dragon Tail. He also uses Sweet, an Illumise he received from Wonder Trade, to initiate Horde Encounters with Sweet Scent, and also to take them out using Dazzling Gleam for the purposes of EV training. He also has a Wynaut he has owned since the original Ruby Version. Wynaut is level 100, and thus will never evolve, possesses over 60 Ribbons (including every single Contest Ribbon possible), and is described by Missingno. Master as "the Pikachu to my Ash." Missingno. Master needed but the flimsiest of excuses to have Wynaut follow his player character around in HeartGold, and is the main reason he is in favor of the feature returning in future games.

Personality and characteristics
Pokémon games

His very first Pokémon was the Pikachu he started with in Yellow, and the first Pokémon he ever caught was a Pidgey.

Over the years, Missingno. Master accumulated an impressive collection of Pokémon games, including every single main series game from the current six generations, and most of the spin-off games, even including three games for the Pokémon mini system. Not counting the Super Smash Bros. series, his Pokémon games are as follows;

Currently owned

Formerly owned

Pokémon

Trivia

  • Missingno. Master's favorite Pokémon is Weezing, his favorite type is Poison-type, his favorite Ability is Stench, and his favorite move is Sludge Wave.
    • Despite this none of his usernames mention Weezing, instead mentioning two of his other favorites (Missingno. and Wynaut).
  • Missingno. Master is a member of Pokémon Vortex, the successor to Pokémon Crater. He still goes by his old WynautFan username there.
