If a Pokémon with Defog from D/P/Pt is transfered to HG/SS, is this move treated as an HM and cannot be deleted (like Dive in FR/LG) or is it just deleteable? ht14 04:12, 9 October 2009 (UTC)

I would say that it is the same if you transfer a Pokemon with Dive into LeafGreen and FireRed that it still knows the move it just doesn't have the affect in over world. Solar Dragon 04:27, 9 October 2009 (UTC)

Move image

Is it normal for the background to be black with white transparencies on top of it? I am asking because my screenshot still has the battle background intact.

Usage in Gen 5

From what i have read elsewhere on Bulbapedia, Defog no longer works to clear the over-world Fog Weather Condition. Shouldn't this be mentioned here?

If it can only be used in battle in Gen V, then yes, it should be noted in the "Out of battle" section. Werdnae (talk) 20:34, 24 October 2011 (UTC)

Defog interaction with terrains caused by natural weather in Generation VIII

Does Defog remove terrains created by weather in the wild area? In Misty Terrain on June 1st(Fog in Wild Area), my Frosmoth used defog, however, the terrain effects remained. --Kaividian (talk) 11:20, 20 September 2020 (UTC)

Additional testing. During a thunderstorm, defog did not remove the electric terrain. --Kaividian (talk) 11:30, 20 September 2020 (UTC)

Bag Sprite

In the trivia section it says "The Bag sprite for the HM containing Defog is mistakenly that of a Water-type HM, rather than a Flying-type one." Is this the case in every generation? I feel like this needs to be more specific. Landfish7 06:28, 5 March 2022 (UTC)

Nevermind, I just remembered it's only an HM in DPPt. Landfish7 06:30, 5 March 2022 (UTC)

Generations VI and VII description has a small amount of strange wording

Under this section specifically, it says "as well as Aurora Veil on the target's side of the field. It still only clears away Light Screen, Reflect, Safeguard, and Mist from the target's side of the field." when the mention of Aurora Veil could be merged into the second sentence. I don't believe Aurora Veil has a unique interaction distinct from the other effects that don't get affected on the user's side to require it to be separated. I would replace the section with just "It still only clears away Aurora Veil, Light Screen, Reflect, Safeguard, and Mist from the target's side of the field." Sorrica (talk) 03:42, 23 December 2022 (UTC)

I adjusted your wording a little, given that Aurora Veil didn't exist before. Thanks. Nescientist (talk) 16:50, 20 January 2023 (UTC)
