I got a call from Baoba today, and he said something about the catchable Pokémon changing in one of the areas. Now, I believe it was a block upgrade he was notifying me about, but that seems to clash with the info in the article, especially since he mentioned that somehow you could get the original Pokémon back... Anyway, has this happened to anyone else? I thought that if I'm correct, perhaps this should be added to the article. -[[User:Palkiajosh|•Palkia]][[User talk:Palkiajosh|josh•]] | I got a call from Baoba today, and he said something about the catchable Pokémon changing in one of the areas. Time of Day Row?
The tables need a compatible time of day row, because there are changes in encounters for the non-block Pokémon. I tried using the catchheader, catchbar and catchtime templates, but they're all one column too short. --Maxo 18:28, 2 April 2010 (UTC)
- I agree with this and can confirm that certain pokemon only appear during certain times. It should also be noted that time only affects areas with no blocks Daemonten 01:40, 6 April 2010 (UTC)
- What do you mean by that? My guide says that Wobbuffet can only be found at night and it requires 10 blocks (Yaminokame 02:02, 6 April 2010 (UTC))
- Hmm, Maybe Time does have an affect on block-only pokemon as well. I wasn't sure to be honest. At any rate I went through and updated the templates to include time, and I cleaned up the page so that it at least displays unknowns in the fields I didn't know about. So we now have a time field, hooray. (And the swamp follows the templates now) Daemonten 03:17, 6 April 2010 (UTC)

Five or six sections?
Doesn't the artwork of the johto map show six areas and not five? --DSDark 21:02, 11 August 2009 (UTC)
- I can only make out five on the scan that I've seen. Maybe you have a different one though... —darklordtrom 21:28, 11 August 2009 (UTC)
- Well, the map shows six areas. And if you look at the screenshot of the area changer, there seems to be something behind the menu. My question is, how did we determine what kind of areas the Safari Zone had? Judging by the info we recieved, I'd assume that the areas weren't really set. -- Ryuutakeshi 17:22, 11 August 2009
- well here's a picture i did up that clearly shows six areas and not five --DSDark 01:34, 12 August 2009 (UTC)

New Image
Do we want a new image on this page? I have a screencap of the safari zone without the menu and it' rather good quality. --Ryuutakeshi 01:27, 10 September 2009 (UTC)
- Go on then. If it's a fail we can just delete it. —darklordtrom 01:28, 10 September 2009 (UTC)
- Well, the link's there. Can't figure out why I can't get the actual image to show.--Ryuutakeshi 01:34, 10 September 2009 (UTC)
- You're meant to upload it onto the Bulbagarden Archives. I'll do it for you. —darklordtrom 01:35, 10 September 2009 (UTC)
- Got it. Here's the image
- --Ryuutakeshi 01:36, 10 September 2009 (UTC)
- Guess it wasn't needed.--Ryuutakeshi 01:37, 10 September 2009 (UTC)
- All sorted. Please, don't hotlink images directly from photobucket or any other site into a Bulbapedia article. —darklordtrom 01:38, 10 September 2009 (UTC)
- Roger that. --Ryuutakeshi 01:40, 10 September 2009 (UTC)

something I noticed
My image
the website image
some of the areas are different. Specifically, the bottom center one on the website image. Now, because of that menu I don't know what's behind it, but my image, from a filb.de video, doesn't show that bottom center area. Interesting, no?--Ryuutakeshi 07:17, 10 September 2009 (UTC)
- Pokebeach has answers:
- "There are 12 unique, default maps in the Johto Safari Zone to switch around and explore for Pokemon. Each map has six zones. You switch around the maps on the computer outside the Safari Zone and can even make your own, though we haven't explored this yet. In HeartGold, we can confirm Geodude, Graveler, Magnemite, Magneton, Misdreavus, Murkrow, Magmar, and Kangaskan are capturable. Some of the Pokemon are encountered more often on specific maps. For example, you can find Koffing, Weezing, Grimer, Arbok, and Ekans far more often on the swamp map. On the planes map, you encounter Girafarig, Rattata, Abra, and Smeargle more commonly than anywhere else (perhaps exclusively for some of them). This information is subject to change as we play through the Safari Zone. Remember, the Kanto Safari Zone has been replaced by the Pal Park." --Ryuutakeshi 08:07, 12 September 2009 (UTC)
Paras
I was watching the preview of the safari zone and it shows the player catching a paras - unsigned comment from Grungle7 (talk • contribs)
The pokemon list
Should we add the location column to see what it usually best found in?
- I agree since there are so many different sections a Pokémon can be found in and since Serebii presently confirms post-National Pokédex Pokémon I think a list would be a good idea. Till then I won't make any changes on this page. Right now the present one just needs, more Pokémon, the areas of where to look and time of day.-Tyler53841 15:48, 21 September 2009 (UTC)
- There's been quite the update on the Safari Zone Section, here's the link for it http://www.serebii.net/heartgoldsoulsilver/safarizone.shtml - 12Medbe
Block additions
Can someone update the Pokemon template on here so that we can add block types and numbers for two different types of blocks? I have all the information for the safari zone (Kanto guide) and want to add it, but the template right now doesn't allow adding blocks. This is an example of what the block additions would look like. Can someone add block columns to it? Thanks (Yaminokame 09:57, 30 October 2009 (UTC))

Location
Page says "Northeast of Cianwood City, on Route 48," however, the Johto map shows it as being northwest of Cianwood. Should this be corrected? --Zukiedo (Talk) 08:10, 8 March 2010 (UTC)
Sealeo's Sprite
Sealeo's entry under the mountain area has a Banette sprite. This should probably be changed to a Sealeo sprite, right? Hedgey 22:36, 31 March 2010 (UTC)
Block numbers
What exactly are they for? The numbers in the "Block 1" sections of the charts I mean... R.A. Hunter Blade 03:22, 5 April 2010 (UTC)
- The block numbers list the number of block items that need to be present in order to get that pokemon to appear. The information on http://www.serebii.net/heartgoldsoulsilver/safarizone.shtml is more clear on that for now. Daemonten 01:26, 6 April 2010 (UTC)
