Trivia
- Professor Oak's Pokémon Live Caster: Servine
- Jessie, James and Meowth do not appear in this episode.
- Cheren's theme, as well as the Unova wild battle music, Unova gym battle music, and along with Unova trainer battle music are used as background music.
- This episode marks the second time that Ash has captured a Pokémon with a full party. The first time this happened was back in Kanto when Ash captured Krabby in Mystery at the Lighthouse, which aired over thirteen-and-a-half years ago.
- This episode also reveals that if a Trainer captures a new Pokémon while having a full party, then the Poké Ball will seal itself until the Trainer either deposits it or another Pokémon in the party. This wasn't the case in Mystery at the Lighthouse. Instead, Krabby was immediately sent to Professor Oak.
- As of this episode, Ash has already obtained the same amount of Pokémon he obtained during the entire 192 episodes of the Advanced Generation series and the entire 191 episodes of the Diamond & Pearl series with six Pokémon.
- This is also the earliest time in a series that Ash switched his team around, with Sewaddle being swapped with Pidove.
