A Head Leader (Japanese: ヘッドリーダー) is the leader of the Orange League. As the top Gym Leader in the Orange Crew, he or she serves as the final obstacle before a Trainer can become the Champion of the Orange League. Those who are able to defeat the Head Leader earn the Winner's Trophy and are honored in the Palace of Victory. The only Head Leader currently seen in the anime is Drake.
In a Pokémon battle with the Head Leader, there are rules that the Leader must obey, the most prevalent one being the inability to switch out a Pokémon mid-battle while the challenger is free to do so at any time.
