Skrelp Name Origin

While I am sure half of it is based on Kelp, the Scrawny part seems...to be a stretch. Maybe its Skewer, since they seem to be a predatory, poison-type Pokémon.

other possibilities: Skelp, to slap; Skelp, sheet or plate metal that has been curved and welded to form a tube [perhaps from Scottish Gaelic sgealb thin strip of wood] ; Skelp a heavy fall of rain. Yamitora1 (talk) 15:37, 12 June 2013 (UTC)
