They will be released on the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U respectively in 2014. As with previous installments, characters from various Nintendo video games will do battle with each other. The game will also include characters from third-party games such as Mega Man, Sonic the Hedgehog, and Pac-Man. The game has 49 confirmed playable characters. Pikachu, Lucario, Charizard, Greninja, and Jigglypuff are the playable Pokémon. Trophies are also set to return and most of them will be exclusive to either handheld games for the 3DS version or home console games for the Wii U version.
Gastly, Koffing, Petilil, Chandelure and Cryogonal will appear in the Nintendo 3DS Smash Run mode as enemies.
