History
He was mentioned in A Rush of Ninja Wisdom!, albeit only in a fantasy. He is the older brother of Sanpei and Nihei and hails from Ninja Village. Ippei is the strongest of the village and endowed with a huge sense of justice, as well as an extremely skillful ninja.
He made his first physical appearance in XY098, first appearing when Sanpei returns to his village accompanied by Ash and his friends.
After watching the Pokémon battle between Sanpei and Nihei, he made one analysis of the battle, commenting the mistakes that his younger brother took while. Later, Ippei and Nihei meet Sanpei, Ash and his friends in the temple to the village's heroes. He explains to Ash about the legends of the Pokémon that protected the village from time to time, and explains that his main objective to train his Froakie was that he was the main hero of legend.
When the attack on village begins, he sends Sanpei to protect the village elder, while he and Nihei join forces and face the ninja army after discovering that Hanzou was captured. After regroup, he joins Saizo, Shinobu, Nihei, Sanpei, Ash and the others, while Saizo tells the story of Kagetomo to Ash. After discovering the actual location of the village elder, they decide to go to the place where he is.
During the final battle, he personally faces Kagetomo; during the course of the battle, the old man of the village sees that Ippei has what it takes to command members of the village. After a hard battle, Ippei wins and they can arrest the army of ninjas.
Finally, when the celebration takes place, Ippei is chosen the new leader of the village. He gets the hands of Hanzou the proof of its new position.
He is seen again saying goodbye to Ash and his friends, and after that with Hanzou and the others ninjas when the elder is informed about the mysterious power of Ash's Greninja. He says that again, in the words of the legend, a Frogadier saved the village.
