I might be wrong, but doesn't Tierno's Blastoise defending itself from Sawyer's Slurpuff's Attract confirm that it's male? Well Tierno Blastoise had a lot of episodes like 6 more then Sawyer's Sceptile.
Tierno Blastoise had shown to be very eager to use his dancing skills in its battle as proven to be great battler to confuse his challengers. Its also proven to be quite adaptable battler with this dancing skill. He also like similar to Gary Blastiose as able to use Rapid Spin to block attacks such as Clemont's Chespin Vine Whip. Blastoise
