On the Furfrou Page it says, Furfrou's forms a long with Arceus' and Genesect's are not registered in the Pokedex, but as of ORAS they are. As this is no longer true, can someone edit this please? --[[User:Hydrachomp|Hydrachomp]] ([[User talk:Hydrachomp|talk]]) 17:50, 4 January 2015 (UTC) | On the Furfrou Page it says, Furfrou's forms a long with Arceus' and Genesect's are not registered in the Pokedex, but as of ORAS they are. : I checked the PokeDex in Omega Ruby to find out if my Shiny Furfrou had the Kabuki cut registered, and it only showed up as its non-shiny color for the cut. The same goes for Pokemon Bank's PokeDex, the Kabuki cut did not show up for its shiny form. Unfortunately I do not feel like sending the Furfrou over to Sun to see if the shiny cut shows up on that dex, and then maybe on PokeBank's as well. Name
So, トリミング trimming + トレビアン très bien? Gonna guess the eventual romanization will be "Trimien".--Kaoz (talk) 17:37, 11 September 2013 (UTC)
- The "mian" part of Torimian could be a corruption of メイン (mane/main). --The Truth aka Relicant 17:52, 11 September 2013 (UTC)
- Furfrou, obviously, is fur + frou-frou. Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 16:18, 13 September 2013 (UTC)
- Yeah, but no one in this section is talking about the English name, Furfrou. As for the Japanese name (which this section is about) isn't it the most obvious answer usually the right one? How are we overlooking that "chien" is the French word for dog and it transliterated into katana as シアン? That seems like the most likely connection to me. Kraslev (talk) 02:36, 22 November 2013 (UTC)
- This section is from several months ago, when none of the information above was filled out on the page. This section was for giving information for admins to add to the then-locked page; that information did include the English name. Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 03:26, 22 November 2013 (UTC)

Origin
Torimian may be based on both an Afghan Hound and a Poodle. --The Truth aka Relicant 10:38, 12 September 2013 (UTC)
- I think the poodle is the most likely as the Pokemon can be styled to look like a dog show poodle. CoolDudeAl (talk) 01:27, 13 September 2013 (UTC)
Right, but I think the point was make it look really different and unkempt, so you'd notice a difference when styling. Besides, no one styles an Afghan Hound like a poodle, which is the main gimmick to this Pokemon. CoolDudeAl (talk) 18:04, 13 September 2013 (UTC)
Nobody claims their pet rat is in the top percentage of rats either. Pokémon don't follow the rules of real world logic, so Furfrou could easily be based on a Poodle with traits of an Afghan Hound. Somebody add that to the Origin section because this conversation is over! --The Truth aka Relicant 18:48, 13 September 2013 (UTC)
Can the Origin section be updated with the contents of this amazing discussion so we can finally put the issue of what Furfrou is based on to rest please? --The Truth aka Relicant 10:35, 15 September 2013 (UTC)
- Be patient. This discussion wasn't exactly thorough or authoritative, so it's not like it's urgent. The staff will get to it when they get to it, and if they don't, well, the article unlocks itself in less than a month. You can do it yourself then. English Name Origin
From fur and frou-frou, meaning fancy or over-elaborate. http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/frou-frou#English Zeb (talk) 16:26, 13 September 2013 (UTC)
0192 already said this. --The Truth aka Relicant 16:28, 13 September 2013 (UTC)
Korean name for Furfrou
Its Korean name is 트리미앙 Teurimiang.
- Similar to Japanese name, but I'll sort it out in a sec. -- Nick15 (talk) 17:23, 16 September 2013 (UTC)
- I think the fact that it ends in ng as opposed to n lends credence to the "trimming" part of its Japanese name. Otherwise, it's basically a straight from the Japanese name. -- Nick15 (talk) 18:10, 16 September 2013 (UTC)
French name origin
First things that sprang to mind were Coiffure (as indicated on the page already), Ouaf (the onomatopoeia for barking) and Cacharel (a brand of perfumes/clothes). No proof whatsoever, just my instincts as a native French speaker. Rappy28 (talk) 00:23, 13 November 2013 (UTC)
Anime picture
I've just noticed there's like 10,000 screenshots of Furfrou with various trims in the anime on Archives, but we're only using the Heart trim one on the article. Is there some way we can incoporate a cycling image for the anime section akin to the one used on the articles of several Pokémon eith alternate forms before the Pokéinfobox revamp or ? --The Truth aka Relicant 18:06, 30 November 2013 (UTC)
- Are we even still using cycling images? --The Truth aka Relicant 17:59, 1 December 2013 (UTC)
- We are not, to my knowledge. The admins decided that it's bad to have what a user sees depend randomly on when they decide to load the page. (See, for example, the question of whether to have a gallery on Vivillon's page.) Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 18:06, 1 December 2013 (UTC)
- Then could I request an anime screen of regular Furfrou without a CotD next to it? (obvs this isnt aimed at you 0192) --The Truth aka Relicant 18:08, 1 December 2013 (UTC)
- Anybody object to a second gallery for Furfrou's alt. trims in the anime? --The Truth aka Relicant 18:17, 1 December 2013 (UTC)
- Do we really need a whole gallery to show the different appearances in the anime? We already have a gallery for all the art forms already, a second gallery would look really cluttered and image heavy IMO. I don't think it's that hard to go to the Furfrou category if one wants to see all of the pictures. --Pokemaster97 18:33, 1 December 2013 (UTC)

Form Registration

Resemblance?
Does anyone notice this Pokémon's resemblance to Absol? Sure, Furfrou's a Normal-type, while Absol is a Dark-type, but they have a similar design and color scheme, so maybe they're somehow related to each other? Bauglir100 (talk) 17:58, 30 October 2015 (UTC)
