:: I think that makes sense, not entirely sure though. I mean the color template is designed to for non-link usage so wouldn't it make sense to at the very least use the color2 template? (Sorry it's almost 1am here so I'm very tired and trying to find logic where there might not be any to begin with.)  Let us finish this conversation in the morning. :::It might be basically reasonable. It's at least very close to the same size as color. But it's not an update that's going to happen any time soon. Such widely used templates impact the wiki when they are updated, so such a trivial update is not going to be reason enough to make any changes. (And this template has few reasons to be updated otherwise.) Tiddlywinks (talk) 17:43, 19 February 2018 (UTC)

No Ability

can you delink the No ability thing? Turtwig A Contributions Talk 18:31, 18 August 2009 (UTC)

I fixed it, even though once the template gets mainspaced a "no ability" situation would be impossible. --electAbuzzzz 19:45, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
Once mainspaced, "ability unknown" might be a better default. —darklordtrom 20:02, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
No ability, however, is technically an ability. You just have to hack the Pokémon to have ability 0. TTEchidna 18:55, 31 August 2009 (UTC)
Really? That's cool. The ability article mentions nothing about that. —darklordtrom 23:30, 31 August 2009 (UTC)
It needs to about as much as Natdex needs to mention this thing... TTEchidna 21:41, 3 September 2009 (UTC)

Size parameter

This template needs a size parameter so we can stop the whining of "exploding" templates due to new a teeny-weeny larger animated images (particularly those of Typhlosion). No, we can't make it smaller AND have the animation, because that would be loss in quality, and no, we can't let it be non-animated either because Gen IV sprites should be animated.

So, add the size parameter now. Thanx. UltimateSephiroth (about me · chat · edits) 14:45, 9 November 2009 (UTC)

Easy there, Sephy :) We know about the situation. We're considering a few ways to solve it. We know what we're doing. It'll be resolved once we decide on the best approach. --electAbuzzzz 14:50, 9 November 2009 (UTC)
Okay... :p Now that I know there is a fix under way, I can let the sprites stay stationary for a while (the situation looked like only the sprites were reverted and nothing else was done). UltimateSephiroth (about me · chat · edits) 14:56, 9 November 2009 (UTC)

Dual gender and abilities

The Pokémon without gender and ability like these seems sucks! It should listed at least dual gender for gendered Pokémon and the possible abilities. Can someone add those parameter, also for another similar templates like this , please? ~~ AKUro? あくロちゃん 04:09, 2 March 2011 (UTC)

PBR Box Sprites

May I ask an admin to add a parameter to this template to use the Pokémon Battle Revoultion Box Sprites similar to how Template:Tl uses the Box Sprites from Pokémon Colosseum and XD? Thanks. Adamws (talk) 01:17, 5 January 2018 (UTC)

Cleaner Template Code

Hey, I have been going through the various 'mega templates' and noticed that a lot of them are using complex links rather than templates that already are in place. some examples for this template would include:
Unknown}}} (type)|{{color|FFFFFF|{Unknown}}}
Rather than using the more concise and readable:
{{tcolor|{Unknown}|FFFFFF|{Unknown}}}
when put into the template both look exactly the same.

I have almost this entire template redone in that way and I am working on some of the others. If anyone able to edit the major templates is interested in seeing how I have changed the code for this template and others please let me know.

Using templates within a template can be problematic in the first place. (FYI, I don't altogether understand the specifics of why myself, so I can't explain it well.) This is particularly sensitive when a template constitutes a significant portion of the page, as with most of the "mega" templates (or so I presume). And tcolor is a bigger template than color, which I understand also increases the potential for problems; if anything, templates are more likely to be removed (expanded out) as has happened with some templates when there have been issues. I think that makes sense, not entirely sure though. I mean the color template is designed to for non-link usage so wouldn't it make sense to at the very least use the color2 template? (Sorry it's almost 1am here so I'm very tired and trying to find logic where there might not be any to begin with.) Let us finish this conversation in the morning. It might be basically reasonable. It's at least very close to the same size as color. But it's not an update that's going to happen any time soon. Such widely used templates impact the wiki when they are updated, so such a trivial update is not going to be reason enough to make any changes.
