Possible origin?

I was looking at M. C. Escher drawing, and I found an interesting one that depicted a imaginary creature that may have been the inspiration for Donphan. You can find the link here.

Female sprites

Did anyone notice how in D/P/Pt/ and B/W the females have very tiny tusks where in HG/SS they're almost as long as the male's tusks? Shiramu Kuromu 22:12, 3 December 2010 (UTC)

Held items

I encountered a level 50 Donphan holding a Passho berry at Mount Silver in Heartgold. According to the berry's page the change of finding one on a Donphan or Panphy is 5%. Is this noteworthy enough to be included in the held items section of their pages ? Stephen Keane 00:08, 9 January 2011 (UTC)

Yes, it certainly should be there. --SnorlaxMonster 06:31, 9 January 2011 (UTC)
See Pikachu (Pokémon)#Held items for an example of the template in use. It would be nice if someone could add the template and any items they know to this page. Werdnae (talk) 06:51, 9 January 2011 (UTC)

FireRed/LeafGreen artwork?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the Sugimori artwork shown its HG/SS artwork? DonofLizards 18:38, 12 August 2011 (UTC)

No, it's from FRLG, likely promoting Sevii Islands. You can see here that it's uploaded in early 2005.--Den Zen 18:47, 12 August 2011 (UTC)

Oh, so there was no new artwork for Pokémon that had already gotten FR/LG artwork? My mistake, sorry. DonofLizards 18:51, 12 August 2011 (UTC)

Behaviour

"During their breeding season, male Donphan compete for mates by rolling `as well to show how tough they are. This rolling is known as the Love Dance. Donphan are also known to have a keen sense of smell, at least in the sense of being able to detect amberite, and will upraise their trunks into the air to smell for it." As far as I can tell this is complete fanwank which clearly does not belong in an encyclopaedia. Unless anyone can find evidence otherwise, this is getting deleted. Radfox 19:47, 11 March 2012 (UTC)

Check the anime part of the page and read those episodes about finding amberite and falling in love. It's not fan wording, it's just describing it as seen in the anime. :) Frozen Fennec 19:55, 11 March 2012 (UTC)

elephants can't jump irl

I'd say not at all. Most Pokemon do things that their real life counterparts can do. --It's Funktastic~!話してください 18:56, 5 June 2013 (UTC)
