DP box, often called the Generation IV Missingno. due to its appearance, is a glitch Pokémon in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl Versions. It doesn't appear to have an official name, so it has been dubbed "DPBox" by gamers due to its appearance, a white box with two vertical black lines on it. Its blocky appearance draws comparisons to Pokémon Red and Blue Versions' MissingNo..
cleanup

It will appear in a player's party if they attempt to enter a double battle with two fainted Pokémon, an egg, and a healthy Pokémon in that order in their party. The glitch does not work when using a Vs Seeker to enter the double battle. When sent out, it will have Bulbasaur's cry and will sparkle as if it were a shiny Pokémon. In the Japanese version, it is also obtainable in the wild by using a Japanese Action Replay.
Invisible Shiny Bulbasaur is a glitch Pokémon in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl.
It is usually found in Sinnoh's Oreburgh Mine with the use of an Action Replay. It can also be encountered in a wild double battle when using a cheat code to walk over water, and it can be found in Victory Road as well.

It can also appear when one "recruits" a partner trainer (such as Riley) and leaves the area the partner is "supposed" to be in using a Walk Through Walls cheat; from there, the player must trigger a wild battle (a common method is to walk on water). This results in the partner (who was replaced by a placeholder partner when the player left the "recruitment area") sending out DPBox as a placeholder Pokémon. In Double Battles, DPBox copies the speed of its partner and changes all Pokémon's cries to Bulbasaur's cry. After every attack animation, its HP bar disappears. It has no usable attacks (although it may have glitch attacks) and it doesn't show up on the Pokémon screen.
Invisible Shiny Bulbasaur always appears at Lv.0 with 0 Max HP, similarly to ?????????? in Generation III. It doesn't appear to have any usable attacks -- in double battles, the only attack it can use is Struggle. It is apparently invisible, although it may have a sprite resembling DPBox's (when it uses Struggle in a double battle, the bottom of a sprite resembling DPBox's is visible at the top of the screen); it sparkles like a Shiny Pokémon when it appears; and it's cry is the same as that of a Bulbasaur. If the player attempts to attack it, the game will assume there is no target and end the battle immediately.

It can also be encountered by using the "walk anywhere" code activated and having a partner so as to encounter wild Pokémon in double battles. If this is done outside the area you "recruited" the partner, the partner's sprite will be replaced by the player's sprite (so that they look like a clone of the player), their Pokémon will be changed to a DPBox, and their name will be changed to a blank space. This is most likely because by exiting the area the partner was confined to, the player caused the game to remove all of the partner's stats from memory, but because of the walk through walls code, the game never realized that the player no longer has a partner; thus, when entering a wild double battle, a placeholder trainer sends out its placeholder DPBox.
By using the walk through walls code to walk over water, the player can trigger a wild double battle with an Invisible Shiny Bulbasaur and a real Pokémon. The game, thinking that the player is traveling with a partner, will display two of the player's back sprite, one being the player and the "clone" being the non-existant partner. The partner, whose name is nothing more than a blank space, will send out a DP Box. If the player does not run, then after both real Pokémon have taken their turns, one of the glitches will attack the other with Struggle, causing both to faint (one from damage, the other from recoil).

Interestingly, when using the infamous walk through anything code and going into a wild double battle, a variant of DPBox called Invisible Shiny Bulbasaur will be one of the two wild Pokémon.
Interestingly, in a wild double battle, Invisible Shiny Bulbasaur copies its partner's Speed stat and replaces all participating Pokémon's cries (including DPBox) with a Bulbasaur's cry. After each attack animation, its HP counter disappears.

Glitched Partner Trainer
Invisible shiny Bulbasaur is essentially a null, what happens when an empty space in the party is called to battle. This would explain why the game says that there is no target because, technically, there is no pokémon. DPbox may be Invisible shiny Bulbasaur's back sprite.
As was mentioned above, when one leaves the area where one "recruited" a partner trainer, that trainer is replaced by placeholder data. The reason is because when you leave the area, the game assumes that you are no longer traveling with the partner and it changes all of the partner's data back to placeholder data. However, the game doesn't know that you are still traveling with them, so when you get in a wild battle, the placeholder trainer appears to assist you.

The placeholder's trainer back sprite is identical to your own, and their only Pokémon is DPBox.

Invisible Shiny Bulbasaur
Invisible Shiny Bulbasaur is a variant of DPBox. It is usually found in Sinnoh's Oreburgh Mine with the use of an Action Replay. It can also be encounted using the DPBox Double Battle method described above.

Invisible Shiny Bulbasaur always appears at Lv.0 with 0 Max HP, similarly to ?????????? in Generation III. It is apparently invisible, although it may have a sprite resembling DPBox's (when it uses Struggle in a double battle, the bottom of a sprite resembling DPBox's is visible at the top of the screen). When encountered using the Double Battle method, it is likely to faint; if the player does not run, then after both real Pokémon have taken their turns, one of the glitches will attack the other with Struggle, causing both to faint (one from damage, the other from recoil).

Trivia
*In the American version of the game, DPbox appears in Victory Road when the player walks over water with Marley.
*DPbox has been found to display a long line of lowercase ds that overlap three times as its name, before the player's Pokémon is sent out.

Interestingly, in a wild double battle, Invisible Shiny Bulbasaur copies its partner's Speed stat and replaces all participating Pokémon's cries (including DPBox) with a Bulbasaur's cry. After each attack animation, its HP counter disappears.

Invisible shiny Bulbasaur is essentially a null, what happens when an empty space in the party is called to battle. This would explain why the game says that there is no target because, technically, there is no pokémon. DPbox may be Invisible shiny Bulbasaur's back sprite.
