Uh.....

is there anyway the article can be a bit more specific on Truant and Slow Start? I know Aianto gets Truant by the Dream World as well as befriend, but can it pass that ability to the target? Or by that does it mean it a Pokemon can pass their ability if the target has Truant and Slow Start? If so what about Multitype? Shiramu Kuromu 14:36, 23 November 2010 (UTC)

A Pokémon using befriend can pass its ability to any Pokémon except those with truant or multiype, so yes Aianto can pass its truant ability. Pikiwyn ^talk 15:47, 23 November 2010 (UTC)

Wonder Guard?

Does Entrainment work on Shedinja's Wonder Guard? I would think that it doesn't, because Wonder Guard is already impervious to Skill Swap and Mummy. But we should confirm it anyway. --Stratelier 00:06, 13 February 2012 (UTC)

Are there any abilities that Entrainment can't GIVE to a Pokémon?

Entrainment can be Mimicked. Since a lot of Pokémon can learn Mimic via Gen III move tutor this means that a very wide variety of Pokémon with a very wide variety of abilities can wind up able to use Entrainment. Are there any cases where the users ability is incapable of being given to the target? I know that at least in Pokémon Showdown (a simulator) a Mimic Shedinja can share its Wonder Guard.BOOXMOWO (talk) 20:58, 24 March 2014 (UTC)

Substitute

In Gen 7, I used Truant Durant in the Battle Tree. A Ribombee used Substitute on the first turn. I used Entrainment. The move failed for some reason. GettingTiredofRegistery (talk) 05:31, 24 December 2020 (UTC)

Correct, Entrainment won't work when a substitute is up (see Substitute (move)#Unaffected moves). Nescientist (talk) 20:31, 28 December 2020 (UTC)

I tested on paradox pokemon

I used a Pawmot and used entrainment on a Slither Wing in the crater, and the move failed to change the target's ability. I'm gonna assume that since it doesn't work on Protosynthesis, it won't work on Quark Drive either. I did not test Orichalcum Pulse, or Hadron engine, and since they set up Harsh Sun and Electric Terrain respectively, and then boost the user's stats, that would need to be tested, but I don't have the resources for that.
