Release information
This card also appeared in the VS set, which was never released outside of Japan; the card was translated under the name of Pokémon Reverse for that set. It was also reprinted in the EX Ruby & Sapphire, EX FireRed & LeafGreen, and EX Unseen Forces sets with new artwork by Hiromichi Sugiyama. The EX Ruby & Sapphire print is famous for seemingly mangling the effect, since it read as follows:
Flip a coin. If heads, your opponent switches 1 of his or her Active Pokémon with 1 of his or her Benched Pokémon. |
This caused quite a stir, as if the effect had been changed from being a "flip for Gust" to "flip for half a Warp Point". An errata was ultimately issued so that the card now was treated more like the Expedition print with a slight tweak for 2-on-2 play, as follows:
Flip a coin. If heads, choose 1 of your opponent's Benched Pokémon and switch it with 1 of the Defending Pokémon. Your opponent chooses the Defending Pokémon to switch. |
This was the wording that showed up on later prints of the card.
