Dragon trio is a term used by many Pokémon fans to refer to three legendary Pokémon that may or may not be a legendary trio of the Sinnoh region. It is composed of three Pokémon: Dialga, Palkia and Giratina.
Some fans debate the status of this trio, as Arceus is said in the mythology of the Sinnoh region to have created two beings from itself, Dialga and Palkia, not mentioning Giratina at all. Nonetheless, Giratina has similarities to both of the other members, much like other members of legendary trios. Each has Dragon as their secondary type, as well as a base stat total of 680, distributed among the stats as 150-120-120-100-100-90, though in different orders. Many of the moves each learns by leveling up also correspond roughly to those learned by the others.
Trivia
- Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina all have footprints that look like Crowns. Dialga's looks like a King's Crown, Palkia's looks like a Queen's, and Giratina's is smaller than that, possibly a Prince's.
