Koraidon (Japanese: コライドン Koraidon) is a Legendary Pokémon introduced in Generation IX.

Koraidon is the game mascot appearing on the boxart of Pokémon Scarlet.

Biology

Trivia

Origin

Koraidon may be based on a marine iguana or a Komodo dragon. Some elements of its design resemble parts of a motorcycle: its horns are similar to handlebars, and the black coloration on the base of its tail together with the protrusion on its neck resemble wheels. The webbed hands and feet may have taken inspiration from a gecko.

Name origin

Koraidon may be a combination of 古来 korai (ancient), ライド raido (ride), dragon, don (Spanish for lord), and -don (common suffix in dinosaur names derived from the Ancient Greek word for tooth).
