Paul's Ursaring (Japanese: シンジのリングマ Shinji's Ringuma) is the fifth Pokémon that was shown to be owned by Paul. He captured it in Different Strokes for Different Blokes. Ursaring is voiced by Kenta Miyake in both Japanese and English.
Ash and his friends had gotten lost in Bewilder Forest. While looking for a way out, they encountered an angry Ursaring, which started chasing them. It only became angrier when Ash tried using Pikachu and Turtwig to weaken it.
After getting out of the forest, the group encountered Paul. Using his Chimchar, Paul weakened the Pokémon and captured it. After using his Pokédex on it, Paul decided to keep it.
Since then, the Hibernator Pokémon had not been seen up until Top-Down Training! when Paul used it to save Chimchar from Team Rocket.
It then appeared again in DP081, where it was defeated by Ash's Chimchar in a battle.
