Aoi is a minor recurring character in the anime who debuted during DP088 and is likely to continue appearing throughout the Summer School Arc. She shares many personality traits with Ash, including a love of food and sleeping during class. She developed a fierce rivalry with Ash and they battled their respective Pokémon in training.
