| | #Redirect Pokémon trainer |
| | |
| In Pokémon video games, you play a Trainer who attempts to catch all Pokémon, as well as battle all the Gym Leaders.
| |
| | |
| A Trainer catches a Pokémon by finding it in the wild, and battling them using their own Pokémon. Once the wild Pokémon is weak, the trainer will then throw an object known as a Poké Ball at it. This small, round ball will open and capture the Pokémon if it has been weakened enough. The caught Pokémon now belongs to the Trainer.

| | |
| Trainers also train their Pokémon. They do so by engaging their Pokémon in battles with wild Pokémon or other Trainers' Pokémon.
