Release information
- The holographic version of this card was reprinted in the Base Set 2 reprint set, which was only released outside of Japan.
- A special reprint with the same artwork by Ken Sugimori was released in the Platinum set. This print modified some of the card text to bring it in line with modern card wording whilst still allowing it to retain its original effects.

Trivia
Origin
Swords Dance and Slash are both moves in the Pokémon games that Scyther can learn. The card's flavor text comes from Pokémon Red and Blue, though it is slightly reworded. The Platinum Pokédex entry comes from Pokémon FireRed.
