Showdown in Pewter City (Japanese: ニビジムのたたかい! Battle of Nibi Gym), was the fifth episode of the Pokémon anime. It was first broadcast in Japan on April 29, 1997 and in the United States on September 14, 1998.
In this episode, Ash and Misty finally reach Pewter City, and Ash is ready to challenge Pewter City Gym for his first badge. Can he win despite a type disadvantage?
