Caserin, Misty's Luvdisc (Japanese: カスリン Cuserine, カスミのラブカス Kasumi's Lovecus) is Misty's eleventh Pokémon. She acquired him in the Kanto region, despite the fact that Luvdisc is not normally native to the area. The circumstances of Misty obtaining Caserin are unknown, though it is implied that he was sent to her as she is a Water Gym Leader. The name is a play on both the name Catherine and the second syllable of Lovecus, the Japanese name of Luvdisc. Caserin also contains a part of Misty's Japanese name, カス Kasu, and Misty's name is カスミ Kasumi in Japanese. His Japanese voice actor is 阪口大助 Daisuke Sakaguchi and his English voice actress is Rachael Lillis.
Misty and her sister, Daisy, both obtained Luvdisc in the hope of using the two Pokémon in one of the Cerulean City Gym's water ballets. Caserin was in love with Daisy's Luvdisc, Luverin. However, the other Template:Type2 completely ignored Caserin's advances.
Dr. Namba concocted an evil scheme to rid the world of love and needed the two Luvdisc as his key components, and thus, Butch and Cassidy tried to steal the Luvdisc (in the original Japanese, Dr. Namba only wanted them for his "R-project", not mentioning anything about ridding the world of love at all). But Caserin and Luverin were able to cooperate and save each other - in the process they fell in love - allowing Daisy to complete her new show.
