Some Bulbapedia members have formed a [[Bulbapedia:Project|project]] to better organize efforts to write and improve articles about '''characters in [[Pokémon games]]'''. If you would like to help, please inquire on the [[{{NAMESPACE}} talk:{{PAGENAME}}|talk page]] or the [http://bmgf.bulbagarden.net/forumdisplay.php?f=195 Bulbapedia forum] and see the [[{{NAMESPACE}}:{{PAGENAME}}/To-do list]].

Our ultimate goal is to expand and complete all articles on trainer classes, such as [[Bug Catcher]] and [[Youngster]] that have appeared in the games. Currently, this project covers every trainer class in [[Trainer class#Generation I|Generation I]], [[Trainer class#Generation II|II]], [[Trainer class#Generation III|III]] and [[Trainer class#Generation IV|IV]], along with [[List_of_trainer_classes#Colosseum.2FXD|Pokémon Colosseum/XD]] and [[List_of_trainer_classes#Pok.C3.A9mon_Battle_Revolution|Pokémon Battle Revolution]].
If you have any direct questions to the founder, please post them at [[User talk:PsychicRider|his talk page]].

==Project CharacterDex==
===Scope and aims===
Project CharacterDex aims to write and improve comprehensive on characters from games. Good articles include {{ga|Blue}} and {{ga|Red}}.
Project CharacterDex also aims to get as much info as possible on new characters. A good example would be [[Red (game)#In the Super Smash Bros. series|Pokémon Trainer from Super Smash Bros. Brawl]].
Project CharacterDex also aims to add unknown info about the characters and their Pokémon. This includes [[moves]] and [[abilities]]. A good example would be the addition of previously unknown abilities of the Pokémon in the [[Battleground]].
Last, but not least, Project CharacterDex aims to upload '''ALL''' sprites from the games.
===Goals===
This Project's goal is to cover every possible article that falls under the criteria of "game-exclusive characters" and to pick up as many helping members as possible along the way.

==How can I help?==
To make the infobox at the right appear in the article, paste this into it:
You can help by opening the [[list of trainer classes]] and selecting any incomplete trainer class and expand it by providing any extra information about it. There is no need for creating any new articles, as all trainer classes have already been made. But instead, you can expand the many trainer class stub articles that have been created.

By following the structure of the article below, you can expand and modify any article to comply with the project standard.
If you have any ideas, please add to the infobox.
After pasting, please put a <nowiki>{{clear}}</nowiki> before the Project Character Dex notice.

Some trainer class articles, namely ones from [[List_of_trainer_classes#Colosseum.2FXD|Pokémon Colosseum/XD]] and [[List_of_trainer_classes#Pok.C3.A9mon_Battle_Revolution|Pokémon Battle Revolution]] don’t have pictures or unsatisfactory pictures. You can add a picture to these articles, if possible, by upload a sprite or screenshot of that trainer to the Bulbagarden Archives.
====Article Layout====
Under CharacterDex's new canon system, the games section of characters should go first. Sections should go:

==Structure of an article==
=====Exceptions to the Article Layout=====
The structure of every Trainer Class article should go as followed:
Despite the fact that all characters will be given this treatment, there are some exceptions to this new rule:
===Main Section===
:Characters who are anime-exclusive, ie [[Sakura]], [[Daisy]], [[Violet]], [[Lily]].
This section should be untitled, at the start of the article. It should contain a general description of the trainer’s appearance and personality. There should be a brief history of their encounter in the game, such as where they can be first located, and where they are most located. Any other information that can’t be classified in the other sections can go here.
:Characters who debut in the anime, only appearing in the games due to that.
:Important main characters from the anime, ie [[Brock]], [[Misty]], and [[Giovanni]].

===Appearances===
===Article templates===
Add all the trainer class sprites or screenshots from all the games their found in. They should be added side by side to each other, not in a gallery, with a caption noting which game it is from.

Project CharacterDex

Scope and aims

Project CharacterDex aims to write and improve comprehensive on characters from games. Good articles include Blue and Red.

Project CharacterDex also aims to get as much info as possible on new characters. A good example would be Pokémon Trainer from Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

Project CharacterDex also aims to add unknown info about the characters and their Pokémon. This includes moves and abilities. A good example would be the addition of previously unknown abilities of the Pokémon in the Battleground.

Last, but not least, Project CharacterDex aims to upload ALL sprites from the games.

Goals

This Project's goal is to cover every possible article that falls under the criteria of "game-exclusive characters" and to pick up as many helping members as possible along the way.
