On December 19, 2008, at 5:00 PM CST, the Speed Gamers began their first ever Pokémon Marathon. Their goal was to capture every single [[Pokémon]] possibly obtainable in America at the time. This meant that they intended to capture 491 Pokémon, excluding {{p|Shaymin}} and {{p|Arceus}}. While they attempted to catch all 491 Pokémon, they only caught 429 Pokémon due to technical issues. Additionally, they went over their time limit.

This time, they were aiming for all 493 officially released Pokémon in the 72 hours they gave themselves. Starting 20 minutes late on December 18, The Speed Gamers finished at 6:07 PM CST, thus completing their goal of all Pokémon in 72 hours.
 
As of 11:29 AM CST on December 22, they raised $18,142.90 for Ally's House.

The Speed Gamers are a group of young people based in Texas that play video games for charity. They ask users to donate money to these charities, with donators being put into a raffle. The winner of the raffle is awarded a prize. While many people donate for the prize, most do it to give to a charitable cause while having fun.
