Western Cave (Japanese: にしの どうくつ Western Cave) is a dungeon in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon:Red Rescue Team and Blue Rescue Team. It is home to Mewtwo and contains 99 floors.

Western Cave is unlocked by recruiting Ho-Oh from Mt. Faraway.

Keys can randomly be found on the ground. These are needed to obtain certain items in different dungeons. One is required in the Western Cave to obtain the Beauty Scarf (an item to evolve Feebas) from behind a locked door on 59F.

To enter this dungeon, the team must have a Pokémon with the move Surf or have the HM Surf.

There is a chance of finding Kecleon Shops from 30F onwards. There are no hidden items.

Trivia

  • The name is a reference to Cerulean Cave, due to the cave being in the west, having Mewtwo at the end of the dungeon, and the need of Surf for the player to get to the cave.
  • Every member of Team A.C.T. can be found here.
  • Every fully evolved Starter Pokémon up until Generation III can be found here.
