Welcome

Welcome to Bulbapedia, Werdnae!

As a new user, you may wish to learn a few things that will be useful in your editing:

  • For a basic overview of wiki code, see this page.
  • Read over the style primer before making your edits. It is a basic outline of Bulbapedia style. For a more in-depth set of rules, see the manual of style.
  • Keep an eye on the Messages from the Editor on the main page, to stay informed on current events on Bulbapedia.
  • The word Pokémon is spelled with a capital P and an accented é. The é can be accessed by holding Alt and typing either 130 or 0233 on a Windows computer, and by using Option + e, then e again on a Mac. Otherwise, you can easily click it in the character palette below the editbox.
  • The word Poké Ball is spelled as two words. The "Poké" part is identical to the four beginning letters in "Pokémon"; "Ball" is spelled with a capital B. The spelling "Pokéball" arises frequently, but is incorrect.
  • The word "you" and all forms of it should not be used on encyclopedic pages unless it is a quote from Pokémon or other media. Bulbapedia is an encyclopedia, not a walkthrough.
  • On talk pages, please sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
  • The use of link templates is official policy.
  • If you happen to spot a vandal in the recent changes that has not been dealt with, please see this page for how to deal with it.
  • A list of pages that are linked to, but have not been created, can be found at this page. A list of short articles that may require more information can be found here, while a list of articles that need improvement can be found here.
  • For a future capture, release, trade, or evolution of a Pokémon belonging to a main character of the anime, please do not create or move the page to reflect your suspicions, even if they are shared by many others. Policy here is to wait until the episode in which the event happens takes place is aired, unless there is substantial evidence for the suspicion (such as Brock's Happiny being held in his arms).
  • Image uploading is done on Bulbagarden Archives, a separate wiki accessible through the toolbox in the sidebar. This is done so that both Bulbapedia and Bulbanews have access to the images uploaded. To activate your account at the Archives and Bulbanews, please login there using the same username and password you use here on Bulbapedia.
  • If you want to make a page about a character you made up, please create it at User:Werdnae/(name), not merely (name). Bulbapedia's main namespace is reserved for actual, official Pokémon, items, characters, and locations. Also, please try to make sure that subpages are not categorized by templates used within.
  • Having said this, please make sure that you do contribute adequately to the main namespace. Bulbapedia is not MySpace or Facebook.
  • A list of the admins that you can contact in case of a problem can be found here.

Thank you, and have a good time editing here! ----PAK Man Talk 05:45, 22 September 2008 (UTC)

Plurals

Hi. I couldn't hep but notice that you seem to have reverted my edits on Aron because I was using the plural tense when a group of that Pokémon was mentioned. Um, when referring to a group of things, you use plurals. I did that because the article didn't.

May I ask why you reverted? - unsigned comment from Noname4you (talkcontribs)

It's because, there's no plural form for Pokémon species. Ҝəυzø8 10:37, 28 March 2009 (UTC)

Image Redirection

*Apologies. I failed to notice your message at the top* ASecondOpinion1501 19:26, 2 September 2009 (UTC)

Hey, no worries. That is mainly just referring to when I post a comment on another user's talk page. Sometimes you see one user's comments under a section header on the other's talk page, and the other user posts all their comments on the first user's talk page, so there is only half of the conversation on each page, making it harder to follow. When referring to talk pages for mainspace pages it doesn't matter so much (in my opinion), as the conversation at least tends to stay in chunks.
In response to your question, I'm not sure, but for the wiki you replace the page with "#redirect [[page name]]" (without quotes) Werdnae (talk) 21:02, 2 September 2009 (UTC)

Dr. Footstep

I really appreciate your help compiling the list of responses! One thing, though - could you double-check Rotom? It seems we have it in the 'Tough, Footprints' category, while Rotom doesn't have footprints, which seems a little strange. Just wanted to check if was a mistake or an oddity of the game. Thanks again! Bikini Miltank 12:02, 23 September 2009 (UTC)

Oops, sorry, I made a mistake. Rotom definitely has no footprints. Having a quick look through the list and it seems that is the only mistake. I think it was the way I recorded them before editing your page all in one go. I recorded them as Pokémon: Category, F/NF, so I must have missed the N when I put Rotom in. Italics Help

Oh, I see; thank you for that help. I was trying to use HTML tags to get the words italicized. Dark Boye 21:44, 31 October 2009 (UTC)

Pastoria City

Hey, I'm not sure what was wrong with the way the rival boxes were aligned because I put it up in different resolutions to see the difference. It only stretches if you open all 3 of the boxes, which I doubt someone will do since most likely you only need to see the one that corresponds to your starter Pokémon. This same type of alignment is being used in the walkthroughs as well, as most people agreed that it looked better and saved time scrolling down. -- Jello 20:08, 16 January 2010 (UTC)

Okay, I'll change it back then. I think the reason I did that is because I forgot that the were hidden by default, and it takes about 45 seconds to actually hide them for me at the moment, since my internet has been slowed to Dial-up speed. You're right, it would look better when they are side by side. Werdnae (talk) 20:24, 16 January 2010 (UTC)

Standard

I know it's minor and all, but can you make it (it being {{FA Infobox}} usage) so it's the same standard as the other infoboxes? As in, not all jumbled up in one section... I know it outputs the same way, but that's how we do it... not a rule per se, but tradition is the word I'm looking for. ht14 22:58, 18 January 2010 (UTC)

Okay, sure. I'll go through and change them all. Werdnae (talk) 23:05, 18 January 2010 (UTC)
You don't have to (unless you finished all the FA's already). ht14 23:09, 18 January 2010 (UTC)
Pretty much. It's no trouble though. The only FA still to do is Legendary Island. I think we'll need to change the template for that slightly, as it can be obtained by recruiting any one of the Legendary Birds. Werdnae (talk) 23:13, 18 January 2010 (UTC)

Hey

Thanks for catching that. I hadn't noticed the brown, since 4 of my team are neutral natured. R.A. Hunter Blade 21:15, 14 April 2010 (UTC)

You're welcome. None of my team are neutral natured, but I checked on all of them anyway since it seems a bit counter-intuitive. Werdnae (talk) 21:21, 14 April 2010 (UTC)

On a similar note thank you for your fixing the other part of that vandal's edits on Sky Attack, I have already informed Darktrom about this and since this is a single purpose vandal this used will probably get an indefinite block. -Tyler53841 02:25, 1 May 2010 (UTC)

"The sprites are on the pages. People can SEE that."

By that logic the physiology sections ought to go too. Very poor reason for removal, that. Drake Clawfang 19:54, 13 May 2010 (UTC)

It's not my decision, it's the admins'. They say that there shouldn't be any sprite trivia. The problem with trivia like that is it becomes trivia for the sake of trivia, and the page ends up a list of trivia about every minute detail about the sprites. Personally, I agree with your assesment of the physiology section, that it should be removed, but you'll need to take it up with an admin. Werdnae (talk) 20:02, 13 May 2010 (UTC)
If there isn't supposed to be sprite trivia...why is there still? Drake Clawfang 20:03, 13 May 2010 (UTC)
We're not supposed to kill every single sprite trivia. Only the extremely picky ones, or the ones relating to color between Gen II and Gens III & IV. If it's something really huge, such as big differences between the sprites and official art/anime art, then we keep it. At least that's what I was told 2 months back or so. R.A. Hunter Blade 20:45, 13 May 2010 (UTC)
My appologies. I'd just seen that it had been removed before, and hadn't really read into it too much, since I'm at Uni at the moment. Werdnae (talk) 20:57, 13 May 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, 2 months ago I and a few other users went on a sprite trivia killing spree and were told not to. R.A. Hunter Blade 21:07, 13 May 2010 (UTC)
Like, you can't write trivia comparing Larvitar's Gen II sprite and his GenIV's.-- Gagaromamah 15:18, 3 July 2010 (UTC)

LUGIA IS A WATER TYPE

Why wouldn't it be? It's moves are almost all water moves, and it's the guardian of the sea for crying out loud!!! It lives in the water!!! It barely uses psychic moves!!!!!!!! I've never seen it use a flying move!!!! LugiaLover 00:15, 14 May 2010 (UTC)

Because it is resistant to Template:Type2 moves. If it was Water/Psychic it would be weak to them, and if it was Water/Flying it would be neutral to them. It isn't what it looks like that counts, it's what is in the game data. The game data says it isn't a water type, so it isn't. Werdnae (talk) 00:25, 14 May 2010 (UTC)
For being a Lugia lover you sure don't know much about it. Kids these days. Oy. TTEchidna 00:31, 14 May 2010 (UTC)
Well it has water moves, so it's a water type. And why do water types have to be weak to grass types? Why do grass types have the upper hand? Grass doesn't really hurt water? I guess it takes the water, but still. I know most water types are weak to grass, but why do they all have to be? I know that Pokémon don't always follow their type's weakness and resistance, and I just exited the page on Magnemite and that doesn't follow Electric or Steel weakness or resistance. LugiaLover 00:59, 14 May 2010 (UTC)
We know by easily seen game data that it's not a Water-type. Very easily seen. CuboneKing 01:02, 14 May 2010 (UTC)
Well in the TCG it's mostly water type, and in the anime it's water type, and in the games almost every single one of its moves is water type. Face it, it's a water type.- unsigned comment from LugiaLover (talkcontribs)
Yes and Totodile has dark and normal moves, but it is not dark or normal-type. You will find that Magnemite follows the weaknesses but it combines the weaknesses and resistances so that some will be amplified and others will be nullified. This is an encyclopaedia and so we don't put in what should be true. We only put in what is true.--Beligaronia (talk) 01:04, 14 May 2010 (UTC)
Check your game, look at its summary, it says Psychic right there. Face it, it's a Psychic-type. 8( ▫▫ティナ 01:05, 14 May 2010 (UTC)
LugiaLover, please do not get so distressed that Lugia is not a water-type that you forget your signature. 梅子 01:06, 14 May 2010 (UTC)

And...how does Magnemite not follow weaknesses and resistances? And your logic is completely wrong. So just because a Pokémon can learn a move, it is that type? Then every Pokémon would be part Normal because of Hyper Beam and whatnot. — AxxonntheAwesometrainer 01:08, 14 May 2010 (UTC) img000560.jpg

TAH FREAKIN' DAH. TTEchidna 01:11, 14 May 2010 (UTC)

Look I know that it says it's Psychic/Flying but if it doesn't have any flying moves, how is it flying? I just e-mailed the official Pokémon website so I can get a real answer. And I only forgot my signature because I'm busy doing other things. LugiaLover 01:16, 14 May 2010 (UTC)
Aeroblast? Signature move? Duh? ▫▫ティナ 01:20, 14 May 2010 (UTC)
(conflicted) It does have flying moves. If you love Lugia, how can you forget about its signature move, Aeroblast?? And there's Fly, Sky Attack, Air Cutter, Aerial Ace... I could go on. CuboneKing 01:22, 14 May 2010 (UTC)
It's signature move is Hydro Blast. Also, wait about two minutes. LugiaLover 01:26, 14 May 2010 (UTC)
I believe you mean Aeroblast...--Psyライダー 01:27, 14 May 2010 (UTC)
Lol, where'd Hydro Blast come from? The TCG? Also, the Mailbag feature has been discontinued, so don't expect a response. Ever. CuboneKing 01:28, 14 May 2010 (UTC)
Hydro Blast isn't a move. If you mean Hydro Pump, yeah, and? Bagon can have it, too. Hell, Rhydon can learn Surf. Moves don't make the type, but type does often determine what moves you can have. TTEchidna 01:30, 14 May 2010 (UTC)
Thanks guys. Werdnae (talk) 03:16, 14 May 2010 (UTC)

Response from User:Pokey

Thanks for your comment. I'm sending the response here and not on my talk page because I cannot edit that.

I figured that this would be the case, that Amity Square's item list would not merit its own template, but I was lazy to do it manually and the existing table is a huge mess. It depends on rowspan for its layout, which depends on the number of items in the list (correct me if I'm wrong), so maintaining the list will be a huge pain. My template will use nested tables, which won't need updating as the number of items in each list changes.

However, should the template be subject to deletion once its finished, it can be substituted on the Amity Square page and deleted with minimal effort. I have nearly emulated the table, so it won't take long now. -- Pokey 07:37, 30 June 2010 (UTC)

If you can edit my talk page you should be able to edit yours, so I don't know what's up there. Please do keep working on the 'template' in the sandbox, the existing table does need upgrading. And it is better that you're doing it in the sandbox, rather than on the page itself, as that lets you test things without breaking the page. Werdnae (talk) 07:44, 30 June 2010 (UTC)

Help

How many pages do I need to edit in order to get permission to make my own userpage? Buddy999 04:19, 1 July 2010 (UTC)

I don't know the exact number, the EB won't tell anyone. What I can tell you is that you need to have been a user for a certain ammount of time, and make a certain ammount of mainspace edits before you can edit the userspace. Werdnae (talk) 09:55, 1 July 2010 (UTC)

My Region Infobox

Hey Werdnae, could you please do me favour and do that fancy show/hide thing on every category on my region infobox except for "intro", "professor", "starter" and "team", please? I've made a test here and the infobox needs to work for the Ranger regions as well, and they only require those sections.
And also, to not show them, would I type something like parameter=no to not show them? Cheers and thanks. たかはり 09:09, 1 July 2010 (UTC)

Done. To hide the sections just leave the parameter out completely. If it is there but left blank I think it still includes the section. I've removed the defaults, so now it will hide unless the information is there. I've also changed your sandbox page so that it has one for Kanto, as it is now different from the default, and so that it hides those sections. Werdnae (talk) 09:55, 1 July 2010 (UTC)
Perfect! Thank you so much! I think they're just about ready. たかはり 10:48, 1 July 2010 (UTC)

hey explain.

Diamond_Pearl_Volkner.png Why is not a yellow hair color admitted? Is this a blond hair? Sawamular101 00:04, 2 July 2010 (UTC)

In drawings and anime Blond hair is normally drawn as yellow. As such, it is normally marked as blond instead of yellow. Particularly when it has a bit of brown in it, such as this case, which may be considered "Dirty Blond". Werdnae (talk) 00:09, 2 July 2010 (UTC)

It is your guess. Why isn't it good that yellow is described in parallel? Sawamular101 00:13, 2 July 2010 (UTC)

"Blond hair" and "yellow hair" is basically the same thing, but the term "yellow hair" is not often used in English. "Blond hair" is a more natural-sounding term. 梅子 00:16, 2 July 2010 (UTC)
OK . It understood. Thank you for the explanation. Sawamular101 00:19, 2 July 2010 (UTC)

Hey again

I'm the you helped with the signature (although it was pretty evident). Anyways, I was looking at your user page, SO COOL!!How do you do that? Can you tell me? Or at least tell me how to do those boxy things these are confusing8D! TTYL. Bye for Now! :-P-- Gagaromamah 10:45, 3 July 2010 (UTC)

The things on the side are Usertags inside a collapsible table to keep them on the right side. The collapsible table can be replaced by <div class="userbox"> (Insert usertags here) </div> for simplicity if you like. For the colours and other more complicated stuff, I'd suggest copying the code to your userpage, preview it to make sure it's all there, remove something, and see what changes. That way you can learn what the coding does so you can get it just how you want it. Just remember to keep previewing until it looks exactly how you want it, so you only need to save the page once, and to keep the Userspace policy in mind. Werdnae (talk) 20:33, 3 July 2010 (UTC)

Oh yeah, and how do you write text outside the "box"?-- Gagaromamah 07:58, 4 July 2010 (UTC)
Just put it outside the div tags (i.e. after the </div>). Werdnae (talk) 08:13, 4 July 2010 (UTC)

My Game Infobox template

Hi there, Werdnae. Could you please take a look at my attempt at redesigning the game infobox template? The talk page there has some tests I (and Takharii) have performed with the template. ^_^ And there's actually something I need help with... It's with the ratings and release dates sections. I've inserted the #if: command for the Korean ratings and dates as to make it optional, but when I attempt to insert Korean data in my test examples, that part is ignored and no Korean data shows up. =X ポケモンあいこうか 14:07, 7 July 2010 (UTC)

I've fixed it. The if statement needs three different sections: the parameter (which you had), what to display if it isn't empty, and what to display. Since you just had the parameter, there was nothing for it to display when the parameter was there.
I've asked a few other admins about it, and we think it looks pretty good. TTE says to reduce the size and collapse the internal borders. I can do that if you like. Just let me know. Werdnae (talk) 21:28, 7 July 2010 (UTC)
Ty for the help and I appreciate that it pleased you guys and gals. xD
I've shortened it (width from 30% to 25%, boxart is now 250px) and TTE said he would take care of collapsing the internal borders. ポケモンあいこうか 22:49, 7 July 2010 (UTC)
Werdnae, can I ask once more for your help? I'm trying to make the internal borders in the Links section collapse but to no avail. Also, I want to put the Japanese boxart an optional paramater, both itself and its 2nd and 3rd entries. Some feedback on how that section itself could be organized would be very much appreciated. =D ポケモンあいこうか 22:23, 28 July 2010 (UTC)
From what I can tell, The internal borders you're speaking of are actually collapsed, but you hadn't put individual side borders on the cells as dividers. I've done that. As for the japanese boxart layout, I think having it collapsed like that is a good idea. I'll run it past the others and see what they think, although I'd say that the third boxart definitely needs to disappear when not required, the others it's probably a good idea. Werdnae (talk) 22:51, 28 July 2010 (UTC)
Thx for all of your help. =) Oh, and about the Japanese boxarts, the 2nd one should also disappear when not applicable, for the sake of third versions and single games. ;D ポケモンあいこうか 22:57, 28 July 2010 (UTC)
I need your help into fixing the Japanese boxart sub-template, it currently is broken and when a pic is pointed, it sends out an "unrecognized word" error. Also, I need your help into making that sub-template optional as well as the 2nd and 3rd boxarts. ポケモンあいこうか 17:47, 29 July 2010 (UTC)
I think that must have been because the {{{jbox}}} parameter was being used for two different purposes.
  1. For the number of different boxes
  2. For the location of the first boxart image
So when it was used to call the image, it broke the maths, as it was trying to use a string as a number, and when used as a number it didn't call the image. I've switched it to using straight ifs, instead of ifexprs, using just the parameters that were there. So {{{jbox}}} is the first art, {{{jbox2}}} is the second one and {{{jbox3}}} is the third one. Only the ones that are used are shown, and if none are used (If, for example, we don't have the English boxart yet, and so the jap boxart is up the top) the whole lot disappears. Werdnae (talk) 20:45, 29 July 2010 (UTC)
Thank you very much, I appreciate it. =) ポケモンあいこうか 22:57, 29 July 2010 (UTC)

Name Speculation, Possible Ability?: User:NoMoreHeroes488

It's me again, I just had a thought after seein the new Pokemon, Koromori. In Japan, the words "komori uta" mean lullaby in English, and when taking out the "ro" in Koromori's name, it says "Komori". Does this mean that Koromori will have some type of abillity or move related to the sleep condition? I just felt this was interesting to know.

Thank you for reading this; NoMoreHeroes488

It's possible, but Dogasu said on the forums that it is likely based on the "bat" meaning of komori. I'd suggest asking in the thread about it on the forums, where you'll likely get a better response. Werdnae (talk) 20:20, 8 July 2010 (UTC)

J

Stop making it a fact that Hunter J is dead when you don't really no that for sure, she is not presume to be dead and she might still be a live jst not seen agian. - unsigned comment from Unown (talkcontribs)

J is currently presumed dead. That is only because we didn't actually see her dead body, and no-one stated it as a fact. Her cracked glasses were seen floating out of the explosion which consumed her airship. Besides, the way the trivia is worded shows that it hasn't been confirmed that she is dead, just that it is very likely. Werdnae (talk) 22:24, 12 July 2010 (UTC)

Simple quesion

Hey Werdnae, do you know how to undo multiple edits at once? Thanks. たかはり 07:33, 16 July 2010 (UTC)

I do. There's a special function called "rollback", which reverts all edits by a single user to the last version that someone else saved, but I'm afraid it's admin only, so you'll need to do it manually. It also doesn't allow edit summaries, which is why there's never any extra information. Werdnae (talk) 07:44, 16 July 2010 (UTC)
So I just have to undo each revision one at a time? たかはり 07:53, 16 July 2010 (UTC)
I don't think it lets you undo changes if the page has been edited since. Probably the easiest way would be to go to the last diff before they edited it, click 'edit this page', ignore the warning that you are editing an old version of the page, and hit save page. Werdnae (talk) 20:37, 16 July 2010 (UTC)
Okay. Thanks for the tips =D たかはり 09:09, 17 July 2010 (UTC)

Usarname

I would just like to say that my signature does reflect my username My username is 1rkhachatryan and my signature is RBK, R is short for robert, B is also in robert and K is for my last name which is very long as you can see so my signature does reflect my usarname. - unsigned comment from 1rkhachatryan (talkcontribs)

While I understand your reasoning, the issue I see is that the B doesn't appear in 1rkhachatryan, so it makes the reflection unclear. Could I suggest maybe 1RK or something similar? Werdnae (talk) 01:06, 18 July 2010 (UTC)

I understand what you are saying but it is my nickname and i don't see what the problem is with one letter. I really fail to see how this is hurting anything.1rkhachatryan 01:16, 18 July 2010 (UTC) Oh and i just took a look at the signature guidlines and it states that the signature must reflect the username in full or part of it which mine does so i feel that my signature is fine.1rkhachatryan 01:21, 18 July 2010 (UTC)

Slash

Hi werdnae I wanted to run somethin by you

In the episode "just add water" Ash commanded his totodile to use slash yet it is not in his move list and it is not an error because it is not listed as such in the errors for this episode. I was just wondering if you add it into the moves list because i don't know how too?RBK 01:55, 20 July 2010 (UTC)

Done. Have a look at what I did if you want to learn how to do it yourself. Werdnae (talk) 02:43, 20 July 2010 (UTC)

Thanks man i appreciate it.RBK 19:54, 20 July 2010 (UTC)

Sorry.

Ok, got it, although I left a suggestion on its talkpage, besides, I didn't see that permission thing anywhere, so I thought that, as I do it O.K., it wouldn't be a bother, lol, the only messages I get at my talkpage are warnings :P. Masatoshi: Gen. II>All. Discuss. 20:52, 21 July 2010 (UTC)

Yeah, I'm not sure if it's explicitly stated anywhere, it's just we would rather we knew what the edit was and stuff before it's done. Especially on high-use templates, as editing them causes server stress as it is updated everywhere it is used, so we'd rather know that the edit was going to be an improvement so that we don't then have to edit it again. It was good that you tested it first though, that's just what we would have got you to do anyway. Werdnae (talk) 21:16, 21 July 2010 (UTC)

Template:Song

Hi, sorry if I disturb you, but I'd like you to take a look at here, can you please change it to the original template in here? The changes are not big, it's just fixed in order to be seen by every browser. Thanks. Masatoshi: Gen. II>All. Discuss. 22:32, 21 July 2010 (UTC)

Hey, just thought I'd let you know, if you're changing something to use roundy, then you don't really need to ask for that. It's only for major edits that would affect the template that you should ask permission for. Jello 22:42, 21 July 2010 (UTC)

Japanese Episodes

Hi Werdnae I was wondering if you could tell me what time the jap. episodes air but in U.S. time? I mean like what time in the U.S. will we know when the ep. airs?RBK 01:23, 22 July 2010 (UTC)

The admins that live in North America say it's between 3 and 6 AM, depending on where you live in the US. Werdnae (talk) 02:29, 22 July 2010 (UTC)

Templates for Pokémon Pages

Hi, I wanted to make a draft page for one of the new Pokémon that was just revealed on Oha Suta, but it seems like there are a lot of templates used... I don't have any experience working with templates. Is there a page that lists what templates are used on Pokémon pages, or should I just copy the information from one of the other Pokémon pages and make the necessary changes to it? Thanks for your help.--PhantomJunkie 08:52, 22 July 2010 (UTC)

Use {{NewPokémon}}. Remember to follow the instructions on the talk page and don't categorise, except for the "New Pokémon" category, which that template adds by default, until it's mainspaced. And preferably don't edit it too much, we're a bit more lenient for mainspacable content, but not much more. Werdnae (talk) 09:00, 22 July 2010 (UTC)
Thank you! So far I've just made the page user:phantomjunkie/Mamanbou (Pokémon). I don't know where to go for images and such, and no other information has been released yet.--PhantomJunkie 09:13, 22 July 2010 (UTC)
For the image just leave the full image location (make sure you preview it. I can't remember whether the "File:" is included automatically) as File:<name>.png Once we get some decent art it can then be uploaded to the archives under that name. Werdnae (talk) 09:47, 22 July 2010 (UTC)

Hello Werdnae

Hello Werdnae,

I am a new user of Bulbapedia. I am very excited about finally getting to contribute to this amazing database about my most favorite game and anime ever, Pokemon. I have literally probably spent hundreds of hours of my life over the years playing the games and watching the anime. My question for you is this: I have edited a few minor things and such on articles, but I want to be more involved. How can I contribute and help out more? I decided to ask you because you were on my talk page, and because you are a junior administrator, and seemed like a good person to ask. Thank you very much in advance for your kind advice.

--JediKnightDTV 22:44, 22 July 2010 (UTC)

Welcome. For getting more involved, just keep making good edits. There are also two areas which you could look at, Category:Articles needing improvement and Special:WantedPages. Finally, to avoid unintentionally linking to a disambig page, use link templates where possible. I hope you enjoy your time here. Werdnae (talk) 22:55, 22 July 2010 (UTC)

Guten Abend, lieber Werdnae! (Good evening, dear Werdnae!)

Hello Werdnae or whatever (^^), I'm MetaMence, also known as "Pikaman" at PokéWiki. I am from Germany so my... No, maybe I write something wrong or I make grammatical mistakes or something like this. And my question is: When can I edit my page?!? At PokéWiki, my page is the longest at the Wiki, and here it doesn't exist (or something like this... You know what I mean?)... Please answer my question quick/fast, I know the Wiki-Syntax a little bit, and please: Try to use simple words;) My english is not the best and I'm just 12... Wait... Look at this: 386.png Pikaman 386a.png Was 386b.png willst 386c.png du? Well, I think that this shows that I know the Wiki-Syntax;) ("Was willst du?" means "What do you want?" or something.) So, I hope that you can answer my question and read this peace of grammatical mistakes and: Ich hoffe auf eine schnelle Antwort! Bis bald, MetaMence questions?

Hi MetaMence, Werd doesn't seem to be available right now so I hope I can answer your question. In order to create your user page, you have to make a certain number of edits to the mainspace (any Bulbapedia article) and wait some time. Keep editing and you will get to edit your user page soon enough. I hope that helps and you are able to understand what I have said. Jello 21:42, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
Thank you for the fast answer and: yes, I understood! (*everyone is wondering*) "A certain number of edits"... That's a very detailful (is that word correct?) answer;) I hope I can count my edits: 56, 57, Yaay, what comes after 57? The certain number! Cool. "How many edits do you have?" "I have a certain number of edits. What about you?" "No! I have only 50!" But I don't wanna say everything. Just thanks and how much the famous "certain number means;) --Prost! MetaMence MetaMence Wow! In Germany it is 00:07, but the 26 July! THAT'S late. And I'm sorry if I sound a bit... I don't find the word... unpolite or something:D
The idea for not saying an exact number is that it will prevent people making just that number of mainspace edits (i.e. to pages without a prefix) and then over-editing the userspace, and also encourages new users to learn to make constructive edits. And the signature timestamps all use the server time, i.e. UTC, rather than local time. (And I'm ahead of you. I'm currently at UTC + 12, so you made that comment at just after 10am on the 26th for me. Not that it matters really.) Werdnae (talk) 02:52, 26 July 2010 (UTC)
Just so you guys know, it's not just edits. It's also a certain amount of time. A proving grounds, if you will. Since his account's not three days old even, it'll be a little bit before he can make his userpage. TTEchidna 23:11, 28 July 2010 (UTC)

Bibarel

Hi! I have the original volumes and these shows the official romanized names of the Pokémon that are in the chapter titles. Here's a picture of Bibarel's japanese name: dscf2322q.jpg - unsigned comment from Emerald Sohma (talkcontribs)

Umm . . . we'll get back to you on that one. The history of the page says that Beadull was the trademarked romanisation, but the other admins can't find an actual entry in a trademark database. Most other sites seem to be using Beadull though, so it must have come from somewhere. Werdnae (talk) 02:52, 26 July 2010 (UTC)
