Welcome
Welcome to Bulbapedia, Mr. Charlie!
As a new user, you may wish to learn a few things that will be useful in your editing:
- For a basic overview of wiki code, see this page.
- Read over the style primer before making your edits. It is a basic outline of Bulbapedia style. For a more in-depth set of rules, see the manual of style.
- Keep an eye on the Messages from the Editor on the main page, to stay informed on current events on Bulbapedia.
- The word Pokémon is spelled with a capital P and an accented é. The é can be accessed by holding Alt and typing either 130 or 0233 on a Windows computer, and by using Option + e, then e again on a Mac. Otherwise, you can easily click it in the character palette below the editbox.
- The word Poké Ball is spelled as two words. The "Poké" part is identical to the four beginning letters in "Pokémon"; "Ball" is spelled with a capital B. The spelling "Pokéball" arises frequently, but is incorrect.
- The word "you" and all forms of it should not be used on encyclopedic pages unless it is a quote from Pokémon or other media. Bulbapedia is an encyclopedia, not a walkthrough.
- On talk pages, please sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
- The use of link templates is official policy.
- If you happen to spot a vandal in the recent changes that has not been dealt with, please see this page for how to deal with it.
- A list of pages that are linked to, but have not been created, can be found at this page. A list of short articles that may require more information can be found here, while a list of articles that need improvement can be found here.
- For a future capture, release, trade, or evolution of a Pokémon belonging to a main character of the anime, please do not create or move the page to reflect your suspicions, even if they are shared by many others. Policy here is to wait until the episode in which the event happens takes place is aired, unless there is substantial evidence for the suspicion (such as Brock's Happiny being held in his arms).
- Image uploading is done on Bulbagarden Archives, a separate wiki accessible through the toolbox in the sidebar. This is done so that both Bulbapedia and Bulbanews have access to the images uploaded. To activate your account at the Archives and Bulbanews, please login there using the same username and password you use here on Bulbapedia.
- If you want to make a page about a character you made up, please create it at User:Mr. Charlie/(name), not merely (name). Bulbapedia's main namespace is reserved for actual, official Pokémon, items, characters, and locations. Also, please try to make sure that subpages are not categorized by templates used within.
- Having said this, please make sure that you do contribute adequately to the main namespace. Bulbapedia is not MySpace or Facebook.
- A list of the admins that you can contact in case of a problem can be found here.
Thank you, and have a good time editing here! --PsychicRider☮ 23:51, 21 August 2008 (UTC)
Link templates
Please use link templates when appropriate; for example, instead of linking to [[Platinum]] or [[Togekiss]], use {{p|Togekiss}} and {{v2|Platinum}}. This ensures you link to the appropriate page instead of a disambiguation page or redirect. See the list of link templates for more information. --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 20:28, 11 September 2008 (UTC)
OK.
The problem is with Template:Moveentry. You see, the ninth field of that template allows you to enter the games that the Pokémon learns that move in. So, hypothetically, if Chikorita could learn Power Whip, but only in Crystal, I'd put
{{Learnlist|Grass}}
{{Moveentry|152|Chikorita|1|Grass||20|'''||C}}
{{Learnlist/footer}}
And get
# | Pokémon | Type | Level | ||
---|---|---|---|---|---|
0152 | Chikorita |
Grass | 20 | ||
Bold indicates a Pokémon which gets STAB from this move. Italic indicates a Pokémon whose evolution gets STAB from this move. |
But that ninth field doesn't yet allow for DP or Pt, meaning you could put in Pt there for Glaceon learning Barrier, but it wouldn't show up as anything. I've poste a request on the template's talk page for one of the admins to do something about that. Hopefully, it won't take them very long to do so... --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 20:35, 13 September 2008 (UTC)
- I'd say go ahead for now, but keep one eye open. If the admins do things a little differently from what expect them to, we'll have to go back and change all those pages to match, so be ready in case that happens. --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 21:03, 13 September 2008 (UTC)
- Ok, it's been fixed. Man, I need a break... and I'm not even doing the hard part here. --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 23:14, 13 September 2008 (UTC)
Hey
Just a heads-up: People aren't allowed to do more than three edits to their userpages a day. You're right up against that limit, so I figured I'd warn you now instead of waiting for you to go over. --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 22:11, 13 September 2008 (UTC)
Dude, your making too many edits to your page and to little to actual articles. If you need to inform us on every accomplishment your OC has had, please, do it all at once --Mooites Talk to me, baby! 17:05, 20 September 2008 (UTC)

Double check this with someone who knows what they're doing first, but.
Template:Mlentry4 is used on the Pokémon pages, and for that, the twelfth field is the game (like with the moveentry template I was talking about before). So you would create a separate entry for the same move that could be learned from a different father/set of fathers, and use the Pt in the twelfth field to denote that.
As far as the move pages, I don't think there's a good way to do that. They use Template:Moveentry, and putting a Pt in there would make it appear at the end of the list of fathers. It'd look like the last one on the list was the only Platinum-only one. So I think that the best thing to do is add the fathers normally, but to manually add <span style="color:#{{platinum color}}">Pt</span>
after each of the ones that are in Platinum only. There doesn't seem to be any way to do this with the template, and I don't want to go through the logistical headache of creating an LT that can handle this and replacing all the {{p}}
s with it. --((Marton imos)) 09:36, 28 September 2008 (UTC)
Rocket hideout trainers
I noticed you plan to update the page with the trainers. Perhaps this could help you out. It details every Team Rocket member battleable within FireRed/LeafGreen/Gold/Silver/Crystal. I'm Missingno. Master. See my new and improved user page, and comment on it! 01:25, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
For deltas.
Instead of leaving it as "Belossom δ", you should have removed the delta and made it so that level=δ. TTEchidna 23:44, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
Baltoys
You are one Baltoy fan. --Prongs (Talk • Contributions) 04:51, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
- Check again, I'm doing it by Pokémon... Ariados, Ninetales and Bellossom are gone too... It's easier and faster if you don't have to replace everything... Mr. Charlie 04:53, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
- Half decks do not equal deck kits. Use jphalfdeck, not jpdeckkit. MaverickNate 01:20, 4 April 2009 (UTC)

Have you caught a Riolu?
Hey there, Charlie. I was going through the Safari Zone article when I found that you can catch Riolu in HGSS; I was surprised. It didn't say how frequent it occured, so I went to the Riolu article and found out that it is labled "Rare". I tracked down the person who made that edit; that person was you! So...how rare is it? Like, how many times have you gone to the safari zone, and how many Riolus have you caught? Could you answer those two questions? Thanks! I have this sudden urge to get a Riolu, and if I'm annoying you NEVER MIND, JUST ANSWER THE QUESTIONS. --hurr durr 00:48, 2 May 2010 (UTC)
Moves
If you need any move unprotected from create-protect, tell me. I will gladly unprotect them. MaverickNate 16:46, 30 September 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks. As soon as I finish up with the currently unlocked ones that I do understand how work, I'll nag you. Mr. Charlie(TalkToMe) 17:38, 30 September 2010 (UTC)
HELP ME
HELP!!!! I used an AR code to walk OUT of Amity Square WITH a pokemon (shroomish) traveling with me in Diamond. I accidentally saved. Does ANYONE have an AR code to remove a partner walking with you?!?! I cant fly or surf! And I have a hard time catching anything! I cant use my fishin rod either! And Dont go on about how cheating is wrong. I was trying to research DPBox and Invisible Shiny Bulbasaur. I did, however, come to one conclusion: Its the SAME POKEMON. When it faints, the entire thing is seen. So... can you help?????
Regarding EV Yield Errors
Thank you very much for pointing out my errors. My data was all scraped from Bulbapedia, though, so it seems the data hadn't been completely worked in when I did so. I was wondering why Generation V would introduce twelve non-EV-yielding Pokémon. : ) On that note, are you certain that was all of them? Hexagon Theory 13:19, 12 November 2010 (UTC)
- Yeah... I think so. I have only completed the ones without EVs at all. I don't know if the others are correct, but at least they're all complete. Mr. Charlie(TalkToMe) 13:22, 12 November 2010 (UTC)
- The others are not my handiwork; as I mentioned, I built my own Pokédex of sorts by scraping each Pokémon's Bulbapedia page for the relevant data. Surely we can assume that those who input the data had credible sources in doing so, no? I reckon the blank ones were just a matter of somebody skipping over that particular section of Pokémon for whatever reason. If you'd like, I could run a cURL script to check my current data against Eevee's dex... Hexagon Theory 13:24, 12 November 2010 (UTC)
- I don't think it's necessary. But if you wanna do it, just to make sure, better safe than sorry. Mr. Charlie(TalkToMe) 13:29, 12 November 2010 (UTC)
- Accuracy confirmed. Also, an interesting link came out of it; I didn't think there'd be so many Pokémon with unique EV yields, but there are ten: Beedrill, Ninetales, Seadra, Raikou, Entei, Delcatty, Flygon, Relicanth, Darkrai, and Kyurem. Hexagon Theory 14:03, 12 November 2010 (UTC)
- Interesting. Trivia material, maybe? Mr. Charlie(TalkToMe) 19:19, 12 November 2010 (UTC)

Awesome job, dude!
Congratulations! For your outstanding service to Bulbapedia's games section you have been awarded the Golden Mew Award for October, 2010 by the Bulbapedia editorial board!
Please place this template onto your userpage by putting {{User Award|GoldMew|October, 2010}} among your userboxes. |
