Pokejungle.net is a personal blog and Pokémon news source, run by the webmaster known as Pokejungle. The site saw its highest amount of activity around the release of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl.

History

Pokejungle's history goes back to the year 2003. As posted by Pokejungle in his bio:

"A little PJN History:

  • Started in late 2003 / early 2004 when I was 13. I used my ISP's free webspace.
  • Hosts of PJN include Earthlink, Hosting Anime, Freewebs, Shyper, Elixant, and Downtown Host
  • "PokeJungle" was the original site name until I added "Network" awhile after. There was also a period of time (2 months maybe) when it was called "Crobat’s Jungle".
  • The early forums used ProBoards and were named "Crobat’s Cavern". This later became Mt. Moon Community after we rebranded it and launched it on my own hosting.
  • Most people to visit my site in one day was 18,000 when Black and White launched in Japan.[1]

Site Changes

The site has gone through many changes. The most recent change was a complete update, on July 29th, 2010. Though Pokejungle had recently held a contest for users to create a new banner for the site, he ended up partnering with TopHat of PLDH[1] with a new minimalistic style, centered around the new grass starter, Snivy. As well as a style change, the site also partnered with Smeargle's Canvas, also owned by Pokejungle, for the fan art of its users.

Pokejungle's Posts

In the posts on Pokejungle.net, there are many things which Pokejungle posts:

News

Pokejungle posts news as he hears it. Being an avid member of many Pokémon sites, he can quickly update with the newest information. He sometimes can be faster than other sites, due to his availability.

Rumors

Pokejungle posts not only news, but rumors as well. These rumors are translated from the Japanese site, 2ch, and are checked for reliability. The most realistic rumors are then posted to his site.

Reliability

Many of the rumors posted on Pokejungle have become true as the dates to Black and White release came closer, although not all of the rumors have been true.

Personal Items

Pokejungle also keeps his site personal, but talking about different aspects. He sometimes talks about his life, or sometimes talks about what is going on in other sites. He also likes to share his personal opinions, such as his favorite Pokémon, Cherrim, and likes to have good laughs with his users.

Contests

Utilizing all areas of his site's connection abilities, Pokejungle has contests for event Pokémon he receives on his Japanese games. He uses his site's comments, his forum, and his Facebook Page with various ways of winning.

Contest History

The latest Contest was started on July 14th, for Goon's Scizor, and users that commented on that post, posted in the correct thread in the Mount Moon Forums, and/or Commented on the Facebook Page's status were entered and given a number for each entry. The winner was 'David.'

Pokejungle recently posted that he will be putting on a contest for two Satoshi's Pikachus.

Other Posters

Unfortunately, Pokejungle cannot always get away from life to post on his site. In the case that a major news reveal (E.G. Pokémon Sunday) comes around while Pokejungle is not able to report about it, Others have taken the role of posting for him. Recently, A user by the name of Daigo covered the Pokémon Sunday of August 1. (July 31 in America)
